Out in the Open:
Rodney and Ronon are following John through the corridors, but they keep their distance so he won't detect them.
"Why are we doing this again," snips Rodney.
"Shhh!" Ronon starts as he gives Rodney a glare. "I want to prove that I'm right about Sheppard and Teyla. Watch."
They slow down when they see Teyla heading towards John's direction and quickly hide behind a corner.
Ronon points to John and Teyla "Look, as they get closer John will pretend to bump into Teyla, she will drop something and they will touch hands while picking up the mess."
Rodney looks on and is amazed at how accurate Ronon is, but he still doesn't want to be proven wrong.
He gives a Ronon a cynical look, "That doesn't mean anything. So they're clumsy. I bet you a weeks pay that in two months you'll be proven wrong."
They both obverse John and Teyla smiling each other and exchange some quiet banter.
Ronon gives a satisfying grin, "Ok, how about we bet a months pay that I find their secret meeting place within two weeks."
"What!" Rodney squeaks. "What makes you think they have a secret meeting place?"
Still smiling, "It's just a feeling. Are you afraid to lose?"
Rodney reluctantly agrees and they go their separate ways.
A week and a half later:
John and Teyla are called into Sam's office. Ronon, Rodney, Sam and Lorne are all there waiting for them. John and Teyla look nervous and everyone else, except for Rodney, have small grins on their faces.
Sam crosses her arms and leans against her desk, "It's come to my attention that a certain couple has been found in a closet kissing while on duty."
John and Teyla turn their looks to Lorne, who was the one that found them. John quickly steps up to say something, but Sam stops him.
"Don't worry John," Sam's smile increases. "I've known for some time now that you and Teyla have feelings for each other and I personally don't know why you felt you had to keep it a secret, but I do ask that you do your "meetings" when you're off the clock and in your own quarters."
John and Teyla's faces turn from worry to relief. They both agree to wait until they are off duty to spend time with each other and they leave the office, followed by Ronon, Lorne and Rodney.
John walks up to Rodney and pats him on his shoulder, "Thanks buddy."
Rodney looks confused, "For what?"
A boyish grin comes across John's face, "For helping me and Teyla. If you didn't have this bet with Ronon, we wouldn't have been found out and we would still be sneaking around. Now we don't have to do that any more."
Rodney contorts his face slightly and says, "You're welcome."
Lorne thanks Ronon and walks away with a big smile.
"What is that all about?" whines Rodney.
Rodney laughs, "I told Lorne that since he found Sheppard and Teyla that I'd give him some of what you're gonna pay me."
Rodney grumbles and walks away. John, Teyla and Ronon begin to laugh out loud.
John walks up to Ronon, "How long have you known?"
"For quite awhile now," answers Ronon.
"And you did not feel the need to say anything?" quips Teyla.
"Nope. I was having too much fun watching," bellows Ronon and he walks away.
