Moonlight poured through every window in the long corridor, precariously trying to balance a tray with one hand, King Harold had finally managed to get to the same haven of his bed chamber. "I've brought tea," Harold announced. Queen Lillian looked up from the book she was reading, "I really do hope you have brought biscuits too". Placing the tray on the coffee table, Harold proudly swiped off a napkin that was covering a plate, "I certainly have my dear, and I even brought the chocolate ones that we only save for guests". Smiling widely, Lillian got out of her chair and kissed Harold on the forehead, "I knew there was a reason I married you! Your excellent choice in biscuits".
The fire crackled happily whilst the two monarchs sat enjoying the peace and quiet after a hectic day. Harold looked at Lillian from over the rim of his cup, "Surely you didn't only marry me for my great expertise when it comes to biscuit choices". Finishing the chapter of her book and placing it carefully on her lap, Lillian looked at Harold; she could always tell when something was bothering him. "Of course not darling, although that is a very important reason in my decision, it is not the only reason," she smiled. "I have always been intrigued as to why a beautiful woman like you chose to spend the rest of your life with the likes of…well…me? I have a terrible temper, I have grey hair, I am not the fittest man around, and most importantly I am shorter than you! I am not your stereotypical king". With that, Lillian stood up and kneeled in front of Harold, placing a supportive hand on his face. "You have just answered your own question Harold. All those reasons, every flaw you claim that you have, is the exact reason why I married you, and most importantly is why I love you". Before Harold had a chance to reply, Lillian placed a finger on his lips to shush him, "Please let me finish. You have never tried to be someone that you're not, and I respect that. I am far from perfect dear, so we are perfectly matched". Harold listened carefully to everything that Lillian had said, "Oh Lilly, I bloody love you". Lillian laughed whole heartedly and replied, "I bloody love you too!"
