Disclaimer: Winchesters, no-ot mine.

A/N: I was baking cookies for my boys yesterday and this little scene popped into my head. Yeah, that's probably a clue that I think about these characters too often. lol Anyway, after last night's show, I needed a little something to pick me up. That show was a heartbreaker and a half. ( and then on top of that we have to wait until Jan. 21rst.? ugh!) Hope this makes you smile. ;0)

The Great Cookie Debate

"Uuum. Mmmmm. So gooood."

"Dude." Sam laughed. "You sound like some kinda porn star over there."

"Thse cookies are hamazin Smmy." His brother answered around a mouth full of the sweet confections.

"I thought you were a pie man Dean." Sam accused, his own mouth almost as full.

Eyes wide, a large half eaten cookie in one hand and an almost empty glass of milk in the other, Dean waved the perfectly browned, baked-good wildly at his smirking brother. "Home made chocolate chip cookies. Still warm. With all their gooey goodness. In the middle of the freakin' apocalypse. Does once in never mean anything to you?"

Sam snorted, spraying crumbs. "Yeah. Gooey goodness." He grinned at his frantic brother. "Okay." He relented. "Mid-apocalyptic, warm cookies trump pie."

"Warm Home made chocolate chip cookies trump pie any day, Sammy." His brother corrected in a serious tone, stuffing another bite in his already over filled mouth.

"Okay. Warm Home made chocolate chip cookies on any day." Sam agreed with an amused look. Then quickly, snatched up the last cookie before his brother could grab it.

Dean just smiled, leaning back, patting his stomach in satisfaction, as he finished off the last of his milk. He looked at Sam across the table, green eyes sparkling, a bemused expression on his face. "She baked us cookies Sam. How cool is that?" He asked softly.

Sam's own smile lost the teasing smirk and became gentle. His big brother had always seemed to appreciate the small things in life. Sam just wished he got to enjoy those things more often. The cookies meant more than just a rare treat, they were kindness. The act of baking, was her way of saying "Thank you" and the Winchester brothers just didn't get that very often. Sighing, he answered back just as softly "Pretty cool Bro."

The End~ Thank you for reading and reviewing. You make my whole day brighter.
