AN: I know I've got, like, thirty other stories going and I'm rewriting, like, ten of them, but this kept popping into my head and wouldn't leave me alone until I had written it down. I am working on my other stories, I promise - I just need to get the plot bunnies out of the way so that I can work on the stories that need updating and fixing. In the mean time, I hope you enjoy Necessary Bargains!

Professor McGonagall had been right about the two all along. The two were exactly like their fathers – loyal to a fault, fiercely protective, overly mischievous, fun-loving, caring individuals. There was only one thing she was wrong about: they were only loyal to each other and cared for a short list of people that grew shorter by the day. What little inclination they felt to follow the 'Light' had died with Sirius Black. Now they were going to insure the safety of themselves and the few people they had left to care for – even if it meant siding with a man that they despised on pure principle.
Chocolate eyes met green and both teens nodded. It was time. They tied the letter to the leg of the snowy owl and sent her off. Now they just needed to inform their family.
Red eyes scanned the missive for the umpteenth time since receiving it.
Dear Tom,
It has recently come to our attention that our lives and those of the people we care about are being used as chess pieces, sacrificed whenever necessary to win the game. We refuse to be pawns any longer. We don't want to fight anymore, and we refuse to continue following Albus Dumbledore blindly. We would like to set up a meeting in a public place of your choice and have a little chat. We want to know your goals, why you started the war, and why you started mindlessly killing people. Come alone.
We solemnly swear that we are up to no good,
HP&VB
The foolish children wanted to meet with him? He smirked. So Potter had finally realized that he was being used by the old goat. Amused and intrigued by this turn of events. Gathering some parchment and begun to hurriedly write his agreement. He would decide whether or not to kill them at the meeting.
