Alan Wake stood focused in front of the old typewriter desperately writing away. His revolver sat comfortably on the desk to beside him. Alan had to hurry, any moment the dark presence would catch up to him. He couldn't allow that to happen. He had to finish the letter.
This was a risk even to him. Alan had a very strict set of rules when it came to writing in the Dark Place. If he wasn't careful, it would take control of him and his mind would be lost to the dark presence once again. But he needed to try. Alan could hear the dark thunderous tornado rapidly approaching the cabin but the writer stayed focused on the task at hand.
A tornado of darkness started thrashing itself against the cabin, shaking it to it's very foundation. "Dammit!" he shouted, "I'm going to stop you!". He folded up the letter and placed it in the envelope. "I hope this works" Alan said as he placed the letter on the table.
He heard the darkness demolish it's way through the front door rushing it's way to him. Alan knew he had only one chance to send the message. He grabbed his flashlight and shined the light directly at the envelope, focusing with all his effort. The Darkness was just outside the room now, thrashing furiously at the door. Just when Alan was about to give up, the envelope vanished inside the beam of light… It worked.
Alan smiled with disbelief but he quickly drew his attention to the door. The Darkness pressed itself against it, busting the door at the frame. He focused his light steadily at the door with the revolver in his other hand waiting for the darkness to come through. The light was starting to dim. Alan knew he was in trouble but he wasn't going to give up without a fight. The Darkness smashed through the door sending splinters of wood everywhere. Alan yelled at the darkness and took his shot
