A Hidden Proposal
Spring began to bloom. The flowers opened up themselves to the morning light's ray and soaked up the sun, letting loose their perfume of unending sweetness. Cherry blossom trees shed forth their flowers, which bloomed in ever brilliant white. Spring was in its fullest now and love was in the air.
Soft feet ran endlessly down a pathway in the park. Flowers and smells of all kinds and colors flowed past. A dress of pale pink swished against the legs as they hurried along.
The girl's love had just come back; she had greeted him the other day. He asked her to meet him her in the park, under the endless rows of cherry blossom trees. She didn't know why he called her out here, but she had a good feeling about it.
Her words rang through her head for reasons unknown. "From now on, we'll be together forever". They had a special meaning now, as she ran on.
She slowed as she reached the grove and smoothed out her features. She wanted to look special, for her one and only love.
He stood in the middle of the grove, dressed in khakis and a green sweater, his favorite color. He seemed nervous and excited all the same. He held something in a pocket, hidden from view.
She walked up to him, smiling sweetly and kind of confused still. She asked why he wanted her to come to him here and he said he had something important to ask her.
He took a breath like a running preparing to run for a race.
"Will you marry me?" was his question.
She gasped and took a step back, her hands held up against her chest, eyes filled with tears and looking at him with all her love in them.
He took his hand out of his pocket and drew forth what lay inside. It was a small velvet black box. He bent down on his right knee; the box held out before him to her and opened it.
Inside laid a ring. Not an ordinary one, but a little something more. The ring was made of white gold and held a diamond. The diamond sparkled like the stars themselves and was tinted by magic with pink. Just like a cherry blossom changes colors in spring.
"I love you. I want to make that love permanent. You are my star that lights the night and guides my way. You are my sun that warms me when I am cold and loosing hope. You are my hope, for the new day ahead. You are the one that I live and make through every day of life for. You are my one and only love." He poured his heart out to her, meaning every word.
She couldn't find any words to say. But she let what he said soak in like the flowers of morning awaking to find the sun's light. She felt every word flow through her and she agreed, he was all that to her.
He smiled.
"Will you, my love, Sakura, marry me?"
She found her words that she looked for. And she smiled, tears sliding unchecked down her soft cheeks.
"I will, for Syaoran is the one I love!" She whispered, revealing and telling the truth once again.
He stood up to his fullest height, smiling. She lifted herself up onto the balls of her feet, leaned in and they kissed, amidst a swirl of cherry blossom petals, from which she was named.
And he, the lone wolf…wasn't alone anymore…
