To All Readers, New and Old-

A few years back, I decided that "Majora's Mask," while interesting in some respects, was hardly a fitting sequel to Link's brave adventures as the Hero of Time and forefather to many future Links in "Ocarina of Time." Being somewhat confident in my own half-developed abilities at the time, I decided that I could do something greater. So, I set out to try and do the good people at Nintendo one better. Sacrilegious though that might be, I received overwhelming support and positive feedback from the reviewers and fellow writers of this site. For that I was, and continue to be, very grateful.

After a few years, I realized that my story, The Legend of Zelda: Dark Tide, while well-received, was hardly perfect. So, I set out to clean up and revise the tale, hopefully giving other readers a chance to give their input on my work in the process. After an unfortunate incident involving my foot and my external hard drive, however, the pages of Dark Tide both old and new were lost to the world.

I put out a plea, hoping in my hubris that someone had made a copy of my story and saved it. Alas, this seems to be about as likely as a well-written Star Wars prequel. So, being Irish, I've decided to celebrate the death of Dark Tide with a wake… a wake that, while lamenting the passing of the old, celebrates the coming of the new!

I have decided, starting now, to rewrite Dark Tide from scratch.

Get your red pens and critical analysis techniques ready, boys and girls… it's time for The Legend of Zelda: Dark Tide… UNRATED EDITION!!!

Just kidding. If that were the case, I'd be on the adult fan fiction site. Not that I don't like sex or anything, it's just… never mind. This train of thought could end up really bad, really fast.

Let's try again, shall we?

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages—except the little ones… there's blood and violence in this story, kids—it's time to experience The Legend of Zelda: Dark Tide… DIRECTOR'S CUT!!!

Hmm… I'm not sure if that's the best way to put it, but… I guess it'll work for now.

And for those of you who notice, I'm leaving the original Author's Note up for now, just in case some yahoo still suffers under the impression that I think LoZ is mine… even if I did do Nintendo one better than "Majora's Mask." Yes, I'm still sore about MM… sue me.

Read, reminisce, and as always… REVIEW!

PS: Am I the ONLY one who thinks a Skull Kid as a villain is really stupid? I mean, that's just moronic… not "Batman and Robin" moronic, but still—okay, shutting up now.
