Title: It's What They Said

Summary: Gwen will never forget the word that saved hundreds, maybe thousands, of lives on September 11, 2001.

Spoilers: Gwen's speech at the end of "Middle Men" (episode 6 of Miracle Day).

Disclaimer: I make no claims to Torchwood or anything associated with it. I'm just borrowing Gwen in an attempt to remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, especially those who fought back on Flight 93.

Now that everything was back to some semblance of normality, Gwen reflected on her time in the States. The one thing she wished she could've done was to visit the Flight 93 Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

A place like that wasn't usually on the itinerary of most foreign visitors, but Gwen still would have liked to pay her respects to those who died on that flight.

Not that she didn't feel for all those in New York and Washington who lost their lives on that horrible day. And as a former police constable, the thought of the sacrifices of the emergency personnel would always evoke a particular sympathy.

So why did those people who perished on Flight 93 hold such a special place in Gwen's heart?

Because they said no.

Please take a moment today to remember

all those who lost their lives ten years ago

and their loved ones who were left behind.
