Ginny Weasley was sitting in the Weasley house flipping through her book, not really paying attention to the novel itself but listening to Ron in the kitchen propose to an apple. She smiled to herself and when she heard him come around the corner she dug deeper into her book.
'How do I look Gin?' Ron said smiling at her. He was dressed, not in Wizard robes but nice muggle attar. 'Does it say, I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you?'
Ginny laughed, 'I believe your zipper might be down Ron.'
Ron went blush red and pulled it up. 'What about now?' He said grinning.
Ginny raised her eye. 'Yes Ron. The zipper changed everything.' Ron sat down next to her, punching her lightly. 'I just- I just want everything to be perfect. You know - I mean we're going to her favorite muggle restaurant, i'm going to propose and ideally she'll say yes.'
Ginny nodded. 'Well if it means anything. I honestly believe that Apple would have said yes, so if the Hermione thing doesn't work out, you have a back up pla-', she felt his eyes on her. 'Sorry!'
Ron got up, pulled his jacket on him and felt in his pocket to make sure the ring was there and apparated.
'Really Ron, I don't care. A coffee shop is fine.' Hermione said smiling and holding his hand.
'I really just don't understand, they said light, but this clearly isn't light...', he said scratching the back of his head. 'Doesn't surprise me though, of course tonight of all nights someone would screw up my plans.'
Hermione sat down next to him smiling. 'You know Ron, it's just a restaurant, your acting as though you were being Sorted again.' Ron smiled back at her.
He kissed her softly on the lips. 'Well there's no one here, so I can't further embarrass myself' He said smiling.
Ron took a deep breath and got out of his seat and kneeled on one knee holding Hermione's hand. 'Hermione, i've known you for forever. And yet that doesn't seem long enough. I know i've been a twat, but I know that you know, that I've only ever loved you. I've always wanted to spend the rest of my life with you, and yes we bicker, but honestly I think it's because we were afraid to admit our feelings. I- I mean, we,- gosh. Why was this easier proposing to an apple? I mean. Basically, i'm sayin-asking, ASKING, if you'd like to marry me and be a Weasley.' Halfway through his speech he had gotten beat red and his hands had started shaking, but his half smile made up for it.
Hermione had figured that the reason he was getting so antsy was because he was going to propose, and his proposal was just about what she figured it would be, minus the apple, she didn't quite understand the apple comment. His hand was shaking and she smiled. 'Well as long as the apple doesn't get jealous,' she said smiling, 'Of course I want to marry you.'
His grin widened and he smiled, she placed her hands on his face and kissed him.
