Have you ever had to make a literal life or death decision? I have.
My name? Blaze the cat. Why am I here? No clue. Where do I want to be? The beach, home anywhere but here. Well now you know, but I'll tell you how I got here.
It was earlier today. My alarm read 9:00 as my clock blasted my favorite morning talk-show. I got out of bed and went to my kitchen.
With coffee started and t.v. on I walked out to get the paper. Silver was walking out of his house across the street. He waved at me, and I waved back. Me and him have been together for a year now. I walked back inside and heard the phone ring. When I picked it up I heard Sonic'c usual happy voice.
"Good morning," He said.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Well me and some of the crew are going to the beach, you in?"
"Yah, sure sounds great."
"Be by at eleven." Then he hung up.
After breakfast I looked at the clock it was only 9:30. I had plenty of time. I took a shower and put my hair up in it's usual high pony-tail. I looked at myself in the mirror. I had always been told I have my mother's eyes. That is what I saw looking back at me yellow-gold eyes staring right at me.
I opened my drawer grabbing my black bikini putting it on. Then I walked to my closet taking out my lime-green sundress with matching flip-flops. Grabbing my sunglasses I headed out the door just as Sonic pulled up in his Jeep.
Silver hopped in the other side and reached down to pull me up. I took his hand and climbed in. Everyone was there. In the front Amy was sitting next to Sonic. The seats behind them held Tails and Knuckles. In the back was, me, Silver, Cream, Shadow, and Rouge.
We were all happy laughing and carrying on. Then things turned for the worse.
A truck came and nailed the Jeep head on. I felt Silver grab my hand. Then everything went black.
Next thing I knew I heard sirens, and Silver groaning my name. His hand felt cold in mine, but when I tried to say something nothing came out.
When I awoke again there were doctors everywhere. Then I fell into a deep abyss.
So here I am. In the dark. Alone. I hear my friends calling my name to follow them. All of them, all but Silver.
Part of me wanted to go with them. The other yearning to know where Silver was.
I felt myself getting sucked out of the darkness and into a light room. I heard doctors asking me questions. Calling my name. I couldn't respond. Then I heard a shard of hope.
"Sir, we have another survivor, one by the name of Silver." I felt warmth all thought my body. Everything inside of me wanted to wake up. I felt burns on my skin. I felt the cuts, the scrapes, the bruises.
I must have flinched when they said Silver's name because I heard them ask. "Is he conscious?" I heard footsteps and someone replied. "Yes."
Bring him in here. I wanted to say, I tried to say, but I couldn't. Then the doctor said it for me.
"Bring him in here maybe she will respond to him."
It took no time for them to bring him in here. I heard a wheelchair roll across the floor up to my side. Then I heard him ask the doctor. "Will she be alright?" Hearing his voice gave me goosebumps.
"It is hard to say, Silver but I am pretty sure she is." Then I felt something touch my hand. It was Silver. His touch sent heat through my cold body. I tightened my grip on his hand. I could tell everyone in the room smiled.
"Blaze, wake up. I am here for you." It was then I made the decision.
I have to wake up.
I opened my eyes and saw the world ready to take on any new challenges I was about to face.
