Summery: The life of a newsie isn't a bed of roses, but it's a better life than some kids have. This is my take on how one of those kids became a newsie and how his life has changed from the life he had always known.
Disclaimer: I do not make any claims to the movie Newsies, their director, producers or Production Company. However, I am borrowing the characters for this ficcie and if you don't like it, then go ahead and sue me. You'll only be able to get about $12.35 from me since I am not rich and unemployed. However. if y'all do decide to sue me, my boy's over there ::Points to about 20 guy's all looking for a fight:: will soak ya. ::Grins:::
Warning: Although there won't be anything overly graphic here (it only has an R rating), there will be depictions of child abuse (Physical and emotions. possible attempted sexual abuse too), violence, language and there will be slash between two boys later on, but it'll be nothing more than declarations, realizations, cuddling, hugging and kissing. If this is something that you do not like, then please. do NOT read this fic.
Shout outs!: I would like to thank Stage for being an awesome writer. And although she's not the greatest writer in the world (Because I feel that nobody should hold that title), she's pretty darn talented! I also want to send a shout out to all the awesome newsie writers out there that like to focus on the lesser-known characters from the movie--Especially the writers that focus on Specs.
Dedications: to everyone out there that loves Specs and all the characters that weren't in the forefront of the movie-like Dutchy, Itey, Jake, Snitch, Swifty, Pie Eater and the rest-and for everyone who is just totally freakin sick of all the damn Mary/Marty sues and OC's that have taken over the Fandom. (I swear. If I come across one more fic that has to do with a female or a group of female Newsies, I may scream. ::calms self down:: Sorry, it's not that I don't like them, I just want to see more fics about the Newsies themselves.)
Authors Notes: First of all, this fic came from a highly irritating Dream- bunny that just would not leave me alone until I wrote it. Second, I found out that some of the characters in the movie (not the smaller kids.) were a year or two younger than Jack, so I'm basing some of the ages around that. Like for instance, Dutchy is a year younger than Jack and Specs is about 6- 8 months younger than Dutchy. (Yes people, I know that Mark is older than Ivan in real life, but according to what I know, his character was around the 15 turning 16 mark while Ivan's character was already 16.)
ALSO: This has NOT been beta'd. That means all mistakes; typos, grammar and spelling boo-boos are ALL MINE! If anybody out there who is great at all those things would like to beta for me, then just let me know. Lord knows I could use the help.
Feedback: I would love to receive it, but I will not beg for it. If you like what I have written and would like me to know, then I would love to hear from you. If you don't like what I have written and you suddenly feel the need to bitch at me because of it, then just know this. I don't like flamers and you will regret flaming me. ~*Evil look.horns pop up.whistles innocently*~ There is a reason that this section is placed right before the actual fic. It's so that people have a chance to back away from the fic before they even get into it.

::Muse^Jack pushes Muse^Dutchy out onto the stage::
Muse^Dutchy: ::looks nervously around the room before clearing his throat:: Uh. Jack just wanted me to come out he'ah and uh, tell you'se all that he's totally against this fic because.
::Bec reaches over and clamps a hand over Dutchy's mouth::
Bec: Sorry about that folks. Jack's just a little jealous because this ficcie isn't about him. ::Glares at Cowboy:: Even though he does have a pretty nice size role in it.
Muse^Jack: ::innocent look:: Wha?
Bec: ::Continues to glare at the newsboy leader::
::Feels tugging on her arm and looks down at the blonde boy:: oops! Sorry. ::Unclamps hand so that the boy can breath::
Muse^Dutchy: ::Frowns at Bec:: Can I go back to what I was doin' before Jack came in and yanked me away?
Bec: ::Raises brow:: Ye-ah, I guess.
Muse^Dutchy: WOO HOO! ::Runs off to rejoin the boy he was in the middle of snogging before Jack pulled him away::
::From the other room::
Muse^Specs: ACK! Dutchy! ::Tries to push the other boy away:: C'mon, geoff me! Din't ch'yuse get enough earl.mmmmph!
Bec: ::Giggles and then snorts:: If y'all think those two are bad? You should see Kid and Mush. ::dances out of the room leaving the audience wondering::
