Energy swelled and built up like a restrained water pipe. Ready to burst and go wild. Always so tame. No one would expect this. No one had ever planned on even attempting to be prepared.

Dusk. Shops where still open, close to closing, but still opened. Lights dimly shone in the shop display windows. Illuminating merchandise and ridiculous prices. Any other day, he would dread this hour, purposely avoid it all. Not today. Today this was his safe harbor.

Fingers scratched into the glass, ever-so-slightly screeching in a way that made your skin crawl. Every light inside the display glowed brighter and brighter until they all exploded with load pops. Inside, he could only vaguely see the customers and workers jump in surprise.

Continued on with his eyes holding a dark, vengeful look. They flickered up towards the changing street light--yellow, red, lighter red--pop. Cars swerved as they accepted the change as a go. The other traffic lights were soon shattered; one by one. Mayhem erupted onto the streets. Avoiding the streets, he ushered into a record store.

The music playing over the speakers immediately sped up into unholy speeds. The speakers started to smoke until they made a slowed down-broken sound. The lights where shattered by that time. A couple that was supported on the wall looking up at the sudden darkness, confused. Looked towards the check-out and the screen on the cash-register fell victim. The cashier yelped in surprise, not sure what was happening.

Sirens sounded outside.

It was so noisy now. Yelling. Screaming. Sirens. His head had been hurting for awhile, but he just realized how bad it'd become. Scratched at the scalp of his hair, holding the sides of his forehead. The flashing lights outside abruptly died out. But the noise. The noise.

It was all dark.

All silent now.
