Serpent Hiding in Her Eyes

Catriona

He looks at her sometimes, when no one else is looking, and sometimes he sees a reflection of his own eyes in hers. They're not green, never green, and yet, sometimes, the pupils seem elongated, serpentine. Just as he knows his own to be at times. And he knows that he's not the only one to have remnants of Him. He possessed her for over a year, is it really any wonder there's something left? Those eyes are cold, cruel and calculating, the eyes of darkness. He hears her hissing softly to herself, words no one else can hear or understand but him. Hissing in the dark, alone, a predator. A serpent. And then she looks back at him, the fire light reflects off her eyes, and they are round and human again, but the light always reflects away from her eyes, never entering the drowning darkness. And he gives a soft hiss of acknowledgement to his sister in darkness, knowing that, at the very least, he is not drowning in it alone. And she hisses back.

AN-not quite sure where this came from. I was reading some fanfics and this just poped into my head, fully formed. Very different from my usual humor. It's Harry in his fifth year, talking about Ginny.
