Damn witch! What have you done to me?"

The man screamed as he clutched his chest over his heart. It felt like it was on fire. His heart was beating so impossibly fast it seemed it would burst any moment. A woman walked over to where he was crouched in pain and stared down at him in apathy.

"Vile man. This is your punishment for for your sins against all those who loved you and who you claimed to love in return."

The man lifted his head to glare at her, a few locks of brown hair falling over his eyes. Her expression twisted into one of strong distaste as she stared down at him, as if he were some filthy animal. Hell, in her eyes he probably was. Those deep green eyes along with her long blonde hair would have been a beautiful sight to him had her behavior not been so nasty, and maybe if she didn't have such bushy eyebrows. But for a moment he was reminded of another with green eyes and blonde hair and his expression softened, if just a bit. But it was enough to catch the woman's attention.

"Aldrich."

The brunette's head flew up higher and he watched her with a look of surprise and suspicious curiosity.

"That's his name isn't it? The man who remains faithful to you despite the repeated betrayal his loyalty is repaid with?"

The seething glare the woman received seemed to satisfy her immensely, if the grin she sported was any indication. So she pressed on in antagonizing him.

"Such a shame. Someone as perfect as he is wasted on someone like you. And quite the looker too. I wouldn't mind having him warm my bed at ni-"

The witch was cut off as she was suddenly lifted off the ground by the collar. The brunette now stood at his full height and glaring at her, amber eyes betraying the same unrestricted intensity of a wildfire and all the promise of havoc at the drop of a coin.

"Listen here and listen well, you hell sent bitch. I'm starting to grow tired of your voice. Really, you'd be so much more pretty if you would just shut up. Now let me relay to you a warning."

Tan fists began to shake, fingers curling tighter into the fabric. A threatening grin making its way across his features, almost in a sneer.

"I don't want you speaking of him, I don't want you anywhere near him. Don't even think of him. Or I will show you true hell."

The look of absolute bewilderment shown upon the woman's face granted the man a sense of satisfaction. But it was short lived. Her brows knitted and green eyes took on an acid shade. A moment later the man found himself on the ground, knocked back by some unseen force, with the pain in his chest increased tenfold.

"You arrogant, revolting, disrespectful man! You will suffer for your insolence."

The witch seethed, eyes glowing with fury. They soon returned to their original color and she grinned.

"I will not tell you what I have planned yet. But in time, you shall know. And you will wish death would just take you into eternal, dreamless sleep to remedy you of your misery."

With that, she turned and left the man to writhe in pain until consciousness finally left him.
