The world I step on is full of religious beliefs.

The godly beings are not mere figments of faith and imagination, where their names are called out to only in times of difficulty. Oh no, here, gods are really real, and they exist in great numbers too.

Some gods are quite "pathetic", although this is of course measured in terms of godly power; and some gods are quite strong. The source of their powers is linked to the faith of their followers, so the number of followers plays an important role in determining the gods' strengths.

Hence, like land lords fighting to widen their territories, these gods too are constantly in a struggle to spread the beliefs of their individual faiths.

However if the gods were to simply show off their powers in order to ensnare more believers, and thus clash with other gods, It is believed that this land would not last very long.

'Contract of the Gods'

...this forbids all gods from using their powers to directly interfere with the world. The only method that they are allowed to is to bequest powers upon their followers, and let their followers wield the powers at their own discretion.

And so, this was how religion began.

However, among the countless religions and faiths, the youngest, yet most famous, is the Temple of the Flame God. Aside from the other Temples of the Chaos God and the Earth God, that lived for hundreds of centuries, the Temple of the Flame God has only appeared around, if approximate, 400 years ago.

It is a common knowledge that within the Temple of the Flame God, throughout the generations, are the famous Flame knights.

And whoever may it be, a follower of the Flame Temple, a simple child, or even a follower of a different religion, has the knowledge of the ever-so-perfect Sky Knight.
