Harry hated the Floo Network. Something bad usually happens when he attempted to Floo anywhere. He entered into Borgin and Burkes on accident that led to him observing Malfoy Sr. and Draco at the cold, vile store in Knockturn Alley. When he tried to get to the Hogwarts Infirmary after a rather intense Quidditch game with the Weasley family, the Boy-Who-Lived misspoke due to Ron asking him a question and ended up witnessing Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall in an compromising position on the Headmaster's couch. Harry blushed and limped out to the hospital wing. He even caught Professor Snape smiling due to his inability to Floo. Harry was pale as a sheet and couldn't eat much for a week after that.
Merlin, how he hated the Floo.
Harry was at the Burrow again for his, Ron's, and Hermione's graduation party. He, the Weasley children, Hermione, Neville, and Luna were playing Wizard's Truth or Dare. Hermione introduced it in their 7th year to get Ron to kiss her.
"Harry, truth or dare?" Neville asked.
"Dare. Give me your worst." Harry laughed. Neville leaned over and brainstormed with Ron for a horrible dare. Ron grinned a little too evilly and Harry narrowed his eyes in suspension. After a bout of "tell him." and "no you!", Harry cracked.
"Will you please tell me so I can do it!" Harry almost yelled. Neville blanched and stuttered.
"We-I-we dare you to floo to Riddle Manor."
A crash of pots and pans. Gasps were heard. Ginny screamed and shook violently. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, and Remus Lupin all ran out of the kitchen and into the sitting room.
"WHAT IN MERLIN'S NAME DID YOU DARE HIM?" Remus yelled. He knew the dares cannot be changed and Harry would have to do it.
"We dared him to floo to Riddle Manor knowing that he'll end up in the Leaky Cauldron or something. You know his horrible habit of ending up in a different grate." Ron said slowly backing away from the three adults. None of them noticed that Harry had gotten up and had grabbed floo powder.
"I'm going!" Harry called out. The adults ran over but Harry put up a shield around himself.
"I'm going, ok? Ron's right. I'll end up at the Leaky Cauldron or some place like that. If I do end up at Tom's place, I'll just kill him." Harry shrugged as he tossed the powder into the fireplace and said his destination. He was off in a whirl of smoke and green fire. He didn't get to hear Mrs. Weasley yelling at Ron and Neville and forever forbidding the "damn game".
"My faithful servants. I'm somewhat pleased that you have killed so many on our last raid, Severus and Lucius. You have trained your combat groups somewhat decently, I suppose, yet Harry Potter is still not dead. It should be easy to kill him but I cannot. It's not like he will drop out of the sky., or…." A green flash behind Lord Voldemort erupted his sentence and Harry Potter stumbled out of the fire place. Harry coughed as he stood up. He put opened his eyes and looked around. He locked eyes with Snape before switching to Voldemort. Everyone was in shock.
"Oh…shit…well…um…I'm sure you have some killing to do so I'll just be off." Harry leapt back into fireplace, threw the powder and said "Lightning Bolt" extremely softly. It was his special password into the Burrow.
When he got back to the Burrow, he was pale, and shaking.
"The ONE time it works."
