"Alice! Alice!" I yelled as she, Bella and Edward came through the terminal. I noted vaguely that Bella looked dreadful, so dreadful in fact that her blood barely appealed to me. I didn't dwell on it, Edward could sort that out. Right now I only had eyes for my Alice.
"Jasper!" She called sprinting, only just at human pace, towards me. When she came to a stop, a wide smile lighting up her face, I took her hands in mine. We felt no need to embrace, unlike the other couples meeting at the airport, we were content to simply gaze into one another's eyes. For immeasurable moments we stood there before Esme came up to us hugging Alice as best she could with both my hands still holding hers tightly against me.
"Thank goodness you're home safe!" She exclaimed.
Carlisle came up behind her and gave Alice a hug as well. "Thank goodness you're safe." He said relieved.
We moved outside after this, where Rosalie and Emmett were waiting by the car. They both looked over at me and Alice.
"Thank God you're OK sis!" Emmett called at vampire frequency. "We were so worried about you."
Rosalie stood silently for a moment before saying softly, "I'm glad your home Alice. I'm so sorry."
Stood in our room twenty minutes later it suddenly dawned on me that I had said nothing to my wife, other than her name, since she had got back. But what was I to say? Thank goodness you're home safe? Everyone had said that to her today. It didn't come close to describing how glad I was that she was back with me.
Eventually I moved closer to her and gently let my arms snake around her waist. She moved on to her tiptoes and I lifted my tiny angel the last few inches to my mouth. We kissed passionately as I pushed us both down onto our bed and began to undo her shirt buttons. Because there are some things words cannot express.
