POV: CYD
It was weird. Me and Shelby have had these powers for over a year now, but I still feel shocked whenever we use our powers. Just the idea of being a human time machine, was so surreal. Me and Shelbs grew closer together over the last year and a half of time traveling together, and everytime we touched, I felt something weird spark inside of me. I couldn't figure out what it was, until what happened to us earlier that week. Me and her were sitting in Barry's lab, waiting for him and Naldo to get back with the smoothies. Barry had mentioned that he was doing some modifications to the laser, to create the same beam it made to give us our time powers. All he would need was Naldo's hair gel, which took almost forever to make. Shelbs sat next to me on the couch, reading a book for history class. I was super bored, and decided to see what Barry did to the laser. And my God, did he do a lot. It didn't even look the same. What use to look slick and well built, was now messy, and thrown together. He had it hooked up to a power board, full of cool switches, and buttons. So naturally, I started throwing switches, and pushing buttons. Shelby saw me, and quickly ran over.
"What are you doing!?" She said in her adorable shocked voice, "Barry has been working really hard on this, we can't just mess around with everything."
"If something goes wrong, that's on him." I said, "He should know by now that I can't resist colorful things."
"We need to turn this off." Shelby said, reaching for the controls. She pushed a green button in the middle, causing the laser to activate. It started spinning rapidly, until it stopped, pointing at the back door. It shot out a bright blue laser that opened a huge portal right in front of the door. It started sucking a bunch of stuff in, the couch, TV, some equipment, and started to pull on us. We held on for dear life, but the force was to strong. We slipped, falling towards the bright blue portal together. We fell through, flying past the blues walls of the tunnel the portal connected to.
"Shelbs!" I screamed. "We need to try and jump back to before we activated the laser!"
We started reaching for each other, until our hands gripped tightly. We concentrated on when we were by the laser, and felt the tachyon particles form around us. But then, the particles spread through the tunnel, turning it to yellow. We fell for another minute before being launched out from the portal, into a deserted park at night. We were knocked out cold by the fall, and woke up a few hours later, where we woke up in a strange apartment, where a blue haired woman, was checking on me.
