She watched him sitting there in the chair of the man he killed, the bruises he had caused her still hadn't healed but as she looked at this man, her husband, she pitied him. She wasn't scared of him, not now, not like she had been that night when he hit her over and over again while she begged him to stop.

He had been king, ruler of the club and now he was no one. He had lost everything.

He looked over at her and gave her an awkward smile. She couldn't believe what she was even contemplating. Jax must have adjourned the meeting she heard the banging of the gavel and watched as the men spilled out. Clay was still looking at her and it broke her heart.

She knew she should turn away, just leave but she couldn't. He walked over to her, she stood her ground.

"Hey how you been?" he asked carefully.

"Better" She replied simply.

She had missed him, and she hated that part of herself but oh god she had missed him.

"I don't know what to say to you Gemma" he told her.

"I'm glad you're ok" she replied and it was true. Part of her was so overwhelmingly happy to see him that it gave her heart that sickly warm and fuzzy feeling. The other part of her wished she had killed him herself.

"I miss you" he said as if that made everything ok.

"I miss you too" she admitted.

"I want to make it right" he told her reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face.

She longed for him to touch her, she'd fantasised about him for weeks. Him kissing her, making love to her like they used too but she still flinched.

She saw the look in his eyes and knew it broke his heart to see her do it; she couldn't help it he had hurt her far more than the bruises could ever show.

"I don't know how you can" she told him. "Give it time" she replied softly.

"You have me forever" he smiled at her.

Gemma knew that was the thing she wanted more than anything but the thing that petrified her beyond belief.
