Chapter 1. Mission
King Duncan was sitting behind his large desk. He had a lot of work to do. A giant pile of paper was in front of him. He picked up the First sheet. He realized was drawing flowers on it without noticing he was doing so. It was a letter from lord Montague, who demanded hunderd reels as a compensation for his outfit, which was ruined when he was thrown into the moat by Halt. King Duncan sighed. Sometimes, being king was the most boring job he could imagine. Time for lunch. He thought, although he hadn't done anything yet. Just on that moment, a sentry came running into his office. Then he seemed to realize it wasn't exactly res 'Your majesty, someone wants to see you,' 'I am busy right now,' King Duncan replied. 'But he said it was very important,' the man said, looking embarrassed to bother the king. King Duncan wanted to say that his work is important too, but then realized it wasn't. 'all right, bring him in,' he said, gesturing with his hand. In a few minutes, the sentry returned with a man he didn't recognize. 'We need your help.' The man said. 'Could you call in the Rangers Will, Halt and Gilan?'
Will was reading his post, when he heard someone approach. He opened the door, and looked in the eyes looking Alyss. 'How did you know I was here?' she asked surprised. 'let's call it a "rangers' instinct" ,' Will said jokingly. 'Or you could call it "I heard your footsteps". But tell me, why are you here?,' 'I am here to tell you that the king wants to see you. Gilan and Halt are coming too. Must be a important mission.' 'Since when do you have to tell me that? Isn't a king's courier too important for that?' Will asked. 'Yes, I am way too important for this actually,' Alyss said, grinning at him, ' but I liked to see you anyway.' 'I like to see you too, but I suppose I'd better go to meet the king and halt.' He kissed Alyss shortly, then jumped on Tug, and galloped away.
'So, what's so important we needed three rangers?' Halt asked, looking as grim as ever. 'I have a mission for you,' King Duncan said. 'what a surprise,' Gilan said and even though he wasn't looking at him, halt could see him rolling his eyes. 'What's the problem?' Will asked. 'The Tualagi have a new leader.' A voice said.
