"I like this," Lily Evans whispered.

"What," James asked amusedly.

"This," Lily replied simply.

The pair was lying on the Gryffindor common room. Lily was curled up in a blanket, resting in James's lap. His arms were wrapped around her waist and his chin was rested on top of her vibrant red hair.

"You like spending time with me," James asked, shock clearly evident in his voice.

Lily giggled in a light one. "Oh that's right you're still not used to me tolerating you- let alone liking you."

"Exactly, I'm used to you calling me a prat and storming away," said James.

Lily moved her head slightly so she was facing the fire but James could still gaze at her. He watched the flames of the fire dance in her eyes. The orange and fire contrasted nicely with her emerald green orbs. She seemed not to notice James staring intently at her.

"You're so pretty," James said softly, moving forward and kissing her temple lightly.

"Stop it, I'm really not," Lily murmured, blushing a rosy pink color.

"You're the prettiest person in this room," argued James defiantly.

"No, Mary is," Lily retorted, her head motioning to the long haired blonde playing exploding snap with Remus.

"She pales in comparison to you," James said, trying his best to win Lily over with such a cheesy line.

"I'm the pale one here," Lily argued, a small smiled playing on her lips.

James didn't seem to have a reply so he simply kissed Lily's cheek.

"Are we official," James mused only loud enough for Lily, maybe even Peter who was sitting in the arm chair not even a foot away, to hear.

"You wouldn't be allowed to kiss me if we weren't," Lily said resting her head against James's chest.

"Snivellus won't like it," James snickered, grinning broadly.

"I don't care what Severus likes or doesn't like," Lily replied, resentment in her voice.

"I can't wait to meet your family," James said cheerfully.

"What makes you think we'll last that long," Lily asked laughing lightly.

James raised a hand to ruffle his hair out of habit. "Because we love each other!"

Lily laughed. "Oh Petunia will love you".

"So I'll fit in the family nicely then," inquired James, who was once again grinning.

"Rather nicely I think," Lily beamed. It was true for the most part. Her parents would probably fawn over James, but Petunia on the other hand… Well Snape would probably be Petunia's best friend compared to James.

"I love you," James declared proudly.

For a moment Lily hesitated before she was absolutely sure of her answer. "I love you too James, very much".

Yet another LilyJames drabble. This time it's fluff filled! It felt strange to write. Once again, very short. I rather like this one, I enjoy writing about James's soft side. I'm afraid that this isn't very detailed but I like the dialogue exchange.

I was listening to MuggleNet's pod cast MuggleCast while writing this piece. For the record that was totally not a shameless plug… God, I just realized that this is only 542 words... I really need to write a legitimate LilyJames story. Would any of you be interested in an actual LilyJames story (with chapters and all! from me?
