Hello, guys! How've you been today? I hope you enjoy this one-shot I wrote on a whim. I recently found my old DS, and I wanted to write about an idea that popped into my head while playing the first Style Savvy game. Enjoy!
The last day we saw her, she was 13 years old.
We just did our jobs, really. We were videogame characters, stuck in a virtual fashion world. We were the characters in Style Savvy. Nintendo released our game in October 26, 2008. We made into the hands of every 10 year old the game ever went to.
My name is Dominic. My job was to be the love interest in the game, even though it really was impossible for the main character to get with me. It always pained me every time some little girl finished the game and I would have to just...forget. Forget they existed every time they ejected the cartridge and never play the game. It hurt for a while.
This girl, however, was different.
She was with us for the longest time, and I was pretty sure we were her favorite game. Renee, Libby, Godfrey, pretty much everyone knew we were her favorite. Even when she got Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, she would always come back to us. She loved fashion. Her fashion designs were incomparable to other players. She clearly showed us that she knew what she was doing.
Soon, there was a time she didn't play Style Savvy for a few days. We were already tucked away in her pouch, and I dreaded the fact that she had forgotten about us. She had just finished the game, after all. All she was doing afterwards was managing the shop. Renee, her assistant, had noticed it better than all of us.
For three years, she hadn't played us, and it was then that I took what was truth and stuck to it: she had been finished with us. She didn't want to play Style Savvy anymore. She really was just every little girl that plays this game. She wasn't different at all.
I tried to forget her. I really did. But I couldn't, not after all these years.
Then, suddenly, the screen turned back on. The lights went back on. Everything reset.
She had come back. She had turned into a beautiful young lady. She was 16 years old.
We heard her say, "I found my DS!" I couldn't believe it. All this time, she had simply lost her device? All this time, we sat here, waiting for her to find her DS again? She hadn't really forgotten about us?
I almost cried right then and there, but I knew what I had to do. I had to put on a brave face for her. I saw her new game avatar. Oh, wow, she chose glasses and brown hair again. I thought. I guess I never really forgot her, huh? My heart just about grew up ten sizes when I heard her say she remembered Renee, Grace, and Godfrey, and Roccoco.
She might as well of also ripped it out of my chest when she said, "Ooh, who's he?~"
My expression almost faltered, but I remained the same. The poker face kept going. I asked for Grace, as per usual, and when I got the same answer that she wasn't there, I left. There was a pounding in my chest, and my face felt hot. I speed-walked to my mansion, and I just...to be brutally honest, I bawled my eyes out. How could she not remember me? The one person she didn't remember, and it had to be me, didn't it?
But... I couldn't stay mad at her forever. I can't stay mad. Every time I thought about her, her smile would be the first thing to pop up. I want to sleep. I wasn't needed that day anyway.
I can't believe I fell in love with her all over again.
Thank you for reading this one-shot! I hope you enjoy some of my more recent content when I'm able to post them. Have a wonderful day!
