The house was quiet.

My family was out hunting while I stayed home to watch my daughter: Renesmee, my beautiful miracle.

She never ceased to amaze me, not only with her talent but with her intelligence. She looked to be about four or five years of age with the mind of a pre-teen. She was upstairs sleeping and I was at the piano. Sounds of my love's lullaby floated up towards the rafters.

My attention was brought towards the top of the staircase where Nessie stood, teddy bear in hand. She slowly descended the stairs, so light that it was barely audible.

As she approached me I asked, "Sweetheart, why are you up?" Her arms outstretched towards me so I picked her up gently and lay her in my lap. She settled herself, arms around my neck and head within my chest. "I…" she paused.

"Yes?" She said no more. Instead, she placed a small, warm hand against my cheek and closed her eyes. I did the same knowing that she was showing me something. I saw memories of my wife and I embraced, Alice and Jasper dancing and Carlisle and Esme walking hand in hand in our garden. The vision stopped and I looked at my angel, whose eyes were beginning to look heavy. "Why did you show me this?" She took a minute to answer and I swore she looked a bit upset, what was going on? "I was just wondering do you love Mommy…"
"Your mother means everything in the world to me. She was the missing part of my soul and that which I cannot live without."

"And Uncle Jasper feels the same about Aunt Alice? Grandpa and Grandma too?"

"Yes. What are you thinking?"
"I was just curious. What all of you have is so special and I was just wondering if I would find that too someday."

My mind began racing with pictures of Jacob with my daughter. Ever since her birth we knew that the two of them would be together, an imprint was as sure as the sun's rising. But I couldn't explain this to my innocent daughter. Even she was still too young to understand.

I held her a bit closer, "My sweet, sweet girl. You are still young. Love will come to you; you are too beautiful and special to be ignored. But I will say this: Firstly, you cannot help who you fall for it merely happens. And secondly," I kissed her forehead, "I know someone that loves you very much." She smiled and embraced me, "I love you too Daddy."

I carried her up to her bedroom, tucked her back into her bed and lay with her. She held my hand and I began humming to her my Bella's lullaby. As she drifted back to sleep I could not help but to reminisce on the times when I did this with my wife and how much I thanked what God there was for sending me two beautiful, loving angels.
