Well hello to the people who are/will read this! This is my first fan fiction so go easy on me okay? Please R&R so I know what you think since I'm considering writing more depending on whether I get good reviews or not! Please read on! (I do NOT own these characters but I wished I did!)

I stared into the face of the tracker. I had just been marked. My life had just turned into a smouldering site of utter chaos. I stared at Kayla. Her facial features must have mirrored mine, shock and despair. I ran out of the building, weeping to myself. I sat down on the concrete stairs outside the school. I heard faint footsteps behind me. I didn't bother to turn around. I knew it was Heath. Kayla must have told him. He sat down next to me and took me into a deep and emotional hug. He smelt of everything I adored, him, home, and strangely enough lavender. He pulled me out of the hug, and stared into my eyes. He said, "Zo, don't worry about it. We will always be together no matter what. 'Kay?"

"Uh-huh."

I stood up abruptly and ran to my car. I turned it on and then drove the way to my house. I hated this place. It smelt of my step-dad/step-loser. I ran up to my room and then found my biggest suitcase and stuffed all of my belongings, which honestly wasn't a lot, into it. I grabbed shish and put him softly on the top of all my clothes, and then shut the suitcase, and zipped it up. My life was hell. I then went into the kitchen and wrote a note to my mum saying:

Hi Mum,

I got marked today at school. I have packed all my stuff and have gone to the House of Night. To be honest, I'm g;ad to be leaving, as your so called husband doesn't even like me and you act as if you don't care. So bye.

I then grabbed my suitcase and then walked out of the door, not caring whether the door was locked or not. I put my suitcase into the seat next to me in the car and then drove to Grandma Redbird's house.

At her house, I knocked on the door, and someone came to answer it. Grandma looked so pleased to see me, as always, as if I were her only joy in life. She hugged me.

"Grandma, I got marked today at school. Now I won't be able to seee you a lot because I have to be at this stupid school for vampyres and then my life gets decided for me whether I live or die!"

Shh, little bird. Your life is not lived. You need to appreciate what you have got. I'm sure you will make plenty of new friends at your new school and I will keep in contact with you. You have to go there, Little Bird. Now, let's give you some tea and then get you to your new school.

The school was HUGE. It had huge towers and what looked like a horse stable, and then lots of more modern looking buildings, which must have been for classes. There was also a huge temple for the vampyres' goddess Nyx. It must have been special because it had a huge statue of the night personified goddess right outside the Temple.

I walked in bemused, looked and Grandma, said goodbye, and then walked to the gates of the rest of my life.
