"Mr. Carson, shall we…walk back together?" Elsie scurried to catch up to him when he paused to consider her question, smiling to herself when he shuffled to place her to the inside, the way any gentleman would for his lady. They walked along in companionable silence until the Abbey came into view from a small rise in the road. Turning to look down, he studied her with unabashed curiosity, causing her to blush and turn her own gaze to study the tips of their shoes between them. What happens next?

„Mrs. Hughes" he started slowly. „I was wondering if you would like to go to Thirsk...with me tomorrow?"

She didn't look at him. „I thought you will be bussy all week with the new guests. And I must sort out problem with one housemaid and supplier will come and..."

„Mrs. Hughes. Can you just...can you just look at me please?"

She slowly lifted her head. He was watching her and there was something new, something unfamiliar in his eyes.

Suddenly he looked seriously „I think I was fool all these years."

„But you..."

„No Mrs. Hughes I was. I lived in past and waited for someone who didn't deserve it. I was because I let it affect me. I was because I ignored the most important thing"

„And what is it?" she asked absolutely confused.

„You"

She couldn't believe her own ears. Her heart nearly burst from her chest. She must say something. She took a step toward him. They were only few inches from each other.

„Please say something" He was afraid. He can't lose her now. Not now please.

She gently put her hand on his cheek and smiled.

He wanted to say something.

„Shhh not now Mr. Carson"

She kissed him.

She kissed him with all her heart.
