Author's Note:

So, hello. It's been a while since I've actually written anything, and this would probably be my first major fanfiction in about, say, six-seven months. I'm treading dangerous ground here as I say this, because I'm sticking my foot in the water to get used to writing multichapter fics. I'm working up so I can become an official beta, and I'll continue to publish fics and things, but I'd like to get a good reputation before I actually start beta'ing.

Anyways. Yes, fanfiction. I also have an Ao3 account that I cannot access from this computer, and I'll be publishing this fic there as well. Message me for the link to my Ao3 account that has absolutely fucking nothing published on it yet. Like I said, first fanfiction in a long while.

Prologue:

There was a loud cry. Words escaped you, you could barely breathe as you watched your whole world collapse around you. Your voice was ripped from your throat, and you felt bloody and beaten. It was like a battle cry - no, it was a battle cry. Sobs racked throughout your body afterword, and you felt like collapsing. Everything was dying, everything was burning. Your chest hurt, your head hurt, everything hurt and you couldn't handle it.

Burning, burning, everything was burning. It all hurt, it all screamed at you. You curled up on the ground, the cool ground. It felt so cold compared to the rest of the hot smoke and the flames licking at your skin. You sobbed and shook and your dream world was collapsing, buildings falling one by one by one. It was all falling apart, breaking at the seams.

Tears evaporated as soon as they hit the ground. Your heart felt like it was collapsing - your one comfort, your one, constantly beating heart. Ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom. It was slowing down, and your breaths were ragged. Your dream self was dying, your heart was failing. You struggled with your breathing, struggled with each and every one of your bodily functions that you were oh-so aware of.

And you woke up.

Author's Note:

I must warn you, this is going to be completely written in second person. I'll try to be as consistent as possible with the tense as well. Hopefully a new chapter will be posted daily, but with high school being as rugged and consistent with constant amounts of homework coming out of its puckered ass, I can't promise anything.

Granted, I do most of my homework on the bus. So daily chapters may be a thing. (I must also add in that I'm constantly roleplaying with my girlfriend and others, and I'm in constant group chats, so this story will mainly be written at school.) Anyways, I'll leave this to you, and I'll try to write a long chapter tonight and edit it tomorrow before I go ahead and submit.

Hope you like what I've set out for y'all!
