Shulk looked over Colony 9 with awe. It had been a month since he and his friends had defeated Zanza and the world had become flat, but he still could not get over the view of such a large body of water so near his home. Alvis had told him that this ocean is not as big as the Endless Ocean back when the Bionis and Mechonis stood, but it still looked just as impressive.

"Daydreaming again, are we Shulk?" a familiar voice stated more then it asked. Shulk looked up to see the smiling face of his childhood friend.

"Ah, Fiora. Good morning."

The blonde girl sat next to him, "I will never get tired of this view."

"I know what you mean," Shulk relaxed knowing he wasn't in trouble, "It's amazing seeing the sun move in she sky, barely noticeable. How do you think it does that?"

"Oh, Shulk," Fiora giggled, "You can't stop and smell the roses without wondering how they bloom, can you?"

Shulk chuckled, "I guess not."

They sat in silence for a long while, neither bothering to keep track of time.

Shulk didn't dare speak for fear of causing Fiora to leave. He didn't understand it. When they were kids, they could talk for hours, but now he was to nervous to speak.

The mechanic was brought out of his thoughts as he felt something on top of his hand. He looked down and saw that Fiora had placed her hand on top of his. He looked up to see her stating at him. a blissful expression on her face. His face went red as he looked into her sea-blue eyes. He could not look away, nor did he want to. She leaned towards him and he followed suit. their faces came ever closer until their faces almost touched.

What is this, Shulk thought to himself, this feeling, is it...

"HEROPON HERE TO SAVE DAY!"

The two young adults quickly separated, faces bright red, and looked franticly for their discoverer.

"Riki!" Shulk exclaimed, finding the furry nopon behind the bench he and Fiora were sitting on, "How long have you been here?"

"Riki just get here. Dundun tell Riki, 'Riki, go find Shulk and Fiora.' Dundun worry about Shulk and Fiora. Unknown monsters maybe around. Maybe scarier then dinobeast!" Riki hid his face behind his large ears.

Fiora giggled at the heropon, "All right, Riki, we'll return to the house," she turned to Shulk, "Let's go. Dunban worries to much."

Shulk had an idea, "Come on. I'll race you"

Fiora was caught of guard by his sudden change of personality, but then nodded, "Sure, let's press on, and on, and on!"

As they got set, Fiora challenged Shulk, "Loser has to cook breakfast."

"Then you better hope I win," was his response.

"GOOOOOOOO!" Riki yelled and they rushed down the trail back to Fiora's house, both Fiora and Shulk wishing the race would never end.
