A harsh fire burned brightly within the night. Yellow and orange flames danced under a full blood moon that watched over the grassy clearing below. The dull light cast an ominous glow upon the land. Every direction one looked, motionless bodies laid covered in blood and a strong scent of burning flesh permeated the air. Dark smoke rose into the sky, almost blocking the stars from view.

Metal clashing echoed throughout the clearing and at the center of it all stood a man that struck fear into the hearts of even the bravest of warriors. He was clad in silver armor and the blood that was splattered and smeared across his breast plate was a testament to his ferocity and bloodlust. Gripped tightly within his right hand was a large obsidian sword that had blood dripping from the blade. Caramel tan skin seemed darker against the light from the fire, making his blood-stained blonde hair look as if he wore a golden halo upon his head. A strange contrast with his ferocious aura that engulfed his entire form.

Thin, chapped lips lifted into a vicious snarl to reveal two sharp fang-like canines. The points of each looked as if they could draw blood with the slightest bit of pressure upon a person's flesh. His glistening teeth and snarl combined, promised a slow death to those that dared to stand in his way.

"Oh, Luna, my dearest little sister. You should've known better than to have challenged me." His spoke, voice smooth like velvet as amber eyes narrowed on to the beaten form of his sister who watched him with a determined golden gaze. She slowly got to her feet, legs shaking from the weight of her body.

Her silver armor, though similar, was cracked and left her toned stomach bare. Two slim silver chains crossed over her abdomen in an X. Tight black shorts covered her thighs, stopping just above her knees. The fabric was torn in places as blood dripped from the cuts. Her lightly tanned skin was littered in dark purple and blue bruises. A small cut split the middle of her lower lip. Molten gold orbs burned with hatred and anger for the man before her. She kept her head held high, making sure not too show just how tired she was from fighting his warriors.

"Alexi, this has to stop." She called out to him, pleading for him to end this battle before anymore of their people had to die. His gaze narrowed as a naginata appeared within her grasp. Alexi growled at the sight of her sacred weapon gifted to her by their mother.

"These humans are just insects that must be eliminated." He spat, thrusting his sword up so that it was pointing at one of the dead bodies near him. Luna gazed at the young man with sorrowful eyes. The man's fear forever imprinted upon his face when he had been struck down by her brother's blade. How had Alexi fallen so far? What had made him hate them so much that he thought to rid the world of humans all together?" Luna probably would never get the answers she wished for. As her gaze settled back on her brother's form, she realized that no amount of talking would change his mind. She had no other choice, but to fight him and no matter how much it would pain her she must take his life.

"Has it really come to this, Alexi? I don't wish to fight you, nor do I want to take your life. However, you pose a threat to the humans that I was chosen to protect, and I cannot allow you to continue on with this battle." She told him, lip drawn into a thin line. Her gold eyes, dull as she locked away any feeling of love for the man, she had once called brother. Alexi could no longer be her family if he truly wished to destroy the beings her mother had charged her to protect. Luna had known that his hatred for humans had grown, but never had she imagined it would lead to what was before her very eyes. All of the carnage the fighting had brought, all the death, would it all end with Alexi standing as the victor? What had brought this anger upon him? Luna had only a moment to react when Alexi disappeared as his weapon suddenly came down above her head. She thrusted her Naginata out to block the strike, the force sending shock waves of pain throughout her body. A quiet hiss passed between her lips and Alexi's snarl turned into a dark smirk at the sound. He pressed down strongly, making one of her knees start to bend. She growled lowly before shoving him away with the staff of her weapon.

"I will not allow this to continue." She said to him with a frown. A deep violet mist surrounded his blade and her eyes widened in horror. He muttered an incantation that was deemed to dangerous to use. Her mother would have destroyed him had she ever learned he knew how to use it. Alexi's eyes glistened dangerously as he met her gaze. She knew then, that he was planning to kill her with this attack. Luna had to think of something to counter and quick. Before she could formulate a plan, the attack was sent spiraling for her. Her body moved as she drew up her weapon to block. Without a thought she shut her eyes as tightly as she could while waiting for the impact. Upon not feeling any pain, Luna slowly opened her eyes. All around her was a golden aura.

"It can't be." Alexi spoke, bewildered by what was occurring. Luna knew this power, she had seen it many times before. She turned to look behind her where a blonde woman stood, panting.

"Anna?" She gasped out as the woman gave her a small smile.

"Luna, there is still much that you must do. My dear friend, I hope you'll be able to forgive me in time for what I'm about to do." Anna said as she lifted her hands to her collar bone where a necklace lay against her soft skin. Her lips moved to form words in a language that Luna had never heard. Luna tensed as a sudden dizzy spell took over her mind as her vision swam and blurred. Her brother's voice sounded so much farther away than it had during the fight. He was screaming in anger, that much she knew. Luna's legs became unsteady and she swayed until she collapsed on the ground. She felt tired, she just wanted to sleep.

'What is happening to me?' Was her last thought before the world around her drifted into darkness.
