Disclaimer: I'm definitely not JK…

I hope I won't drive people away with my awful first chapters. It's just that I want to define my entire story in the first one that, I mess up. Hope you'll hang in long enough to read the second chapter!

Chapter 1: The odd pair

They were a pair. An odd, undiscovered, untamed pair. Of what?

Cousins? Friends? Students? Girls? Weasleys?

The last one couldn't be true. One of them was a Potter and that was even disproving of their actions.

Weasleys were rumored to be several things.

Foolishly brave, instantaneous, fiery, passionate, loyal.

None of these words were synonyms of concealed. Yes, the dictionary does support this view.

What would define them then?

Hidden.

And why was seeking them so difficult then?

If you hid yourself behind an ordinary face, you might escape the sight of many but, they were too distinctive to achieve that.

If you hide behind a rude exterior, you'd be avoided but not entirely ignored, yet, they could never hurt a being still, they were not cowards.

And so, they hid behind the one wall no one could break down, family.

Since I'm sure all of you know the Weasleys very well, it'd be in ill humor to explain to you the size of that one astonishingly over protective family.

And they were the most looked after and the most cared for of the lot.

The kids.

Being the youngest in the family had held both advantages and disadvantages for them.

They had always had some one to shield them. Some one to look after them. Some one to tell them that they were the best.

Some one to tell them that they were living up to their parents' name.

And they loved and hated every bit of it.

Past, in their eyes, was the one thing that defined and controlled their lives.

Past was the one thing that they hoped to conquer.

Past was the one thing that they wished people wouldn't think of in reference to them.

Past was the one thing that they wished didn't define them.

But they knew it was wishful thinking. Hope does not always make one feel happy. It could also irritate you, knowing that you hope, knowing very well that it wouldn't happen.

And may be, just may be, they would find some one who wouldn't see them as the daughters of war heroes.

May be some one wouldn't see Lily Luna Potter as the grand daughter of the icon of unconditional love, Lily Potter. May be some one would see her as some thing other than the only daughter of the Boy Who lived.

May be some one would see her as the person she really was.

May be Roxanne wouldn't have to hide in the shadow of her father and brother's fame so much, if only she could find some one who could think of her as Roxanne before Weasley.

Some one, any one would be better than the two who did look past their pasts. Some one they hated with a passion.

Some one who, they were sure, would succeed in breaking past their carefully built fortifications.

Or worse, make flowers of hope bloom in the cracks.
