Panella was born to a panther couple and she was very beautiful. But in the day she became male saber-tooth and night she returned to her normal form. Only love can break the spell. She joined the arm under her male saber-tooth name of Grune. She was quite fascinated by Panthro. She became quick friends with him.
She didn't know how to tell him about the curse. One night she decided to reveal herself to him. "There is something I want to show you." Grune said. She changed into her true form. "Panthro this is the real me, the me you see during the day is a cursed form. I wanted to show you for sometime and I didn't want you to reject me," she said.
"I can't reject you, you're my friend." Panthro said. He hugged her.
"The only way to break this curse is love, true love." Panella said.
"I see," Panthro said.
Every night Panthro talked to Panella and they got to know each other.
Then the two of them went to find the book of omens. They heard something strange. They found Mum-Ra. "Come with me my dear I can fix this for you," Mum-Ra said.
Panella saw Panthro and realized how much she loved him. "No! I will never betray my people or my king or the man I love." Panella said getting close to Panthro. Mum-Ra knocked them down the pit. Panthro protected Panella. They got out of there and headed into the desert.
"Panthro it's so hot." Grune said.
"I know it's hard but we will get out of here." Panthro said.
They were soon arrested by some dogs. The pit fighters found out about the curse including their friend Dobo. Panthro and Dobo were skilled fighters. Panthro found something out. "I can't do it, we got to get out of here," Panthro said.
"We have to take Dobo with us." Panella said.
"Dobo wake up we got to get out of here," Panthro said.
"Why?" Dobo asked.
"I'll explain later." Panthro said. "Let's just go," he said.
They rushed out quietly and headed towards Thundera.
"Can you two tell me what this is about?" Dobo asked.
"My fight next day was going to be a death match between you and me. So we took you and ran because I didn't want to kill my friend." Panthro said.
"I see, you know what it means to be loyal," Dobo said.
"Now let's go," Panella said.
They made to Thundera a few days later exhausted. They were taken to the palace they explained what happened to them. Then was starting to set. Panella decided to show the royal family who she really was when she wasn't in her cursed form of Grune. They saw a beautiful panther in Grune's place. "This is the real me," Panella said. "Only love can break the spell." she said.
"I know this Panella I love you," Panthro said.
"I love you too Panthro," Panella said and they kissed. Light surrounded Panella and when the sun rose she remained panther. "You broke the spell, I love you so much," she told Panthro hugging him.
