A/N: A huge part of serving jury duty is waiting. I hate waiting, but it did give me time to think up this story.

Disclaimer: The wonderful Winchesters belomg to the amazing Eric Kripke and the CW. I own nothing.

After giving Dean a good night kiss, John turned on the night-light. Flipping the light switch to off, he exited the room making sure to leave the door slightly ajar so he could hear Dean if he called out for him or Mary.

"Dean didn't want to go to sleep, did he?" asked Mary when John entered the bedroom.

"Nope. Curious George had to ride his bike twice before Dean would lay down and even then he refused to close his eyes," replied John as he climbed into bed.

"You should have been here today. Apparently Dean learned something new in playgroup."

"What's that?"

"The joys of throwing Legos. He actually broke a light bulb."

John gave a small groan. "Tell me why we're doing this all over again?"

"You know you want another one," said Mary as she rubbed her swollen belly.

"I do. I want eight more," said John. "Enough to have our own baseball team."

"Nine kids? Don't you think that's a bit much?"

"Alright, how about five? It's enough for a basketball team."

"Still too many. You're not going to be the one at home with the five of them all day every day."

"Okay, what about four?" asked John. "Four's enough for curling."

"Curling? That's it no more ESPN for you buster!"

"Oh come on, I'm sure curling is a lot of fun."

"John, in case you've forgotten, we live in Kansas not Michigan." Mary couldn't help, but chuckle at John and his love for sports.

"How about three kids?"

"Three kids? Three kids I can handle."

"Then three it is."

"You know we probably should wait until this one's born before we start planning the next one."

"I guess you're right."

"So do you think that the new baby will be like Dean?"

"I don't know Mare. Does perfection happen twice?" Dean might drive John crazy now and again, but John still thought his little boy was the most perfect human being he had ever met.

Mary couldn't help, but smile at John's question. No matter how exasperated she felt at times, she wouldn't trade her son for anything in the world. "You know honey, it's only two months till the baby's due and we haven't discussed names yet. Do you have any ideas?"

John had been giving it a lot of thought lately. "How about Samuel Patrick?"

"After your brother?" John gave a small nod. "That's a sweet idea. I love it."

Growing up John had been close to his only brother, Samuel. Just two years separated their ages and the brothers were the best of friends. When John was fourteen, his younger brother was struck by a car while riding his bike and killed. John had been devastated.

John scooted close to Mary and leaned in close to her belly. "Hello in there Sammy. It's your daddy. Your mommy, Dean and I can't wait to meet you little one."

Mary gave a contented sigh and moved closer to her husband. John wrapped his arms around her. They snuggled together completely oblivious to the fact that in less than a year's time their happy little world wold be torn apart. For now though everything was right in the Winchester universe.
