Ever since losing his voice in the final battle in Tyger Pax, Bumblebee lost his cheereful himself, as meeting Megatron in hand-to-hand fight broke him from inside. He felt the cold presence of the Well - the place everybody came from and was destinided to come back to, but despite all the bravery to stand up against the Decepticon leader, the yellow 'bot was terrified to go so soon.
He used to be a youngling who never gave up and always could find a way to make others laugh - he used to remined them about all the good things that existed somewhere Over There.
But after the battle he became spark-broken soldier, young and loyal, fearless and one of the best scouts among the Autobot ranks. Now the reminder to Optimus Prime from his once-loving and loved brother. "That will happen to anyone foolish enough to step on my way".
Being sent into space for the search of the Allspark, the very sourse of their life, Bumblebee always tried to keep finding the same star - the main star of Cybertron, his home. No matter, how many worlds he'd seen, the scout was always looking for his planet. The blackness of his surroundings, it's lack of life, sound or any kind of light fell hard on the younglings spark, absorbing it, taking all hope from once worrysless mech.
Bumblebee never have thought he'd find the reason not for fighting a war - but for living again.
The tiny organical being he was supposed to guard from the Decepticons. The bearer of the knowledge of how to find the Allspark. Scared to no end at first and then looking up at him, with awe and a bit of curiosity - pure innocence, unfimiliar to war and death.
And watching the creature - the human - making his first steps closer to the alien, giving him undivided trust, Autobot suddenly felt his spark pulsing again.
After the battle of Mission City Bumblebee knew that he could not leave the boy's side. He was stuck in those warm welcoming hazel eyes.
If the scout wished to calm himself, to feel home, he didn't look up to stars anymore. He looked down instead. And the boy, Sam, returned that gaze, amazed at how blessed he was with such a friend.
Little did the human know of how blessed the yellow 'bot felt.
