"Wrong, wrong, wrong!" His voice boomed across the dark parking lot. "First of all . . " he paused, loudly sucking in breath. " . . .the DA should have called the husband to the stand, and had him testify that she had asked him to confess. Secondly, they should have made her go in for a medical exam to confirm the pregnancy, not" he barked a hollow laugh, "Not that it matters anyway if she was pregnant. She killed the guy -it wasn't self defense- she should go to prison." Together they crossed the parking lot, out of the habit of good manners, he paused in his stride, allowing her to cross in front of him when a car backed out of it's space and swung toward them, it's headlights momentarily bathing them in a yellow glow.

"Bobby." She said quietly, trying to get his attention.

"And they should have busted his ass too, for making a false statement."

"Bobby." She said again, a little louder.

"And the other one. I'm mean come on! No DA would make a deal with a double murder, it's just not possible!"

They reached his motorcycle, and he held her elbow with a experienced air as she swung a leg over. Bobby, still lost in his own thoughts began to pull his hand away, but her grip on him tightened, catching his attention. "Bobby." She said again, assuring his attention. He suddenly looked down at her, and it was almost with surprise that she was there, so entranced he'd been in his rant. She tiled her chin down a little, but left her eyes on him, so that she was coquettishly looking up through her long dark lashes. With her grip on his arm, she pulled him down and closer to her where she sat on the back of his bike. "It's just a movie." She whispered so quietly; he had to move in even closer to hear her, which, of course, had been the idea. He grinned at her, with the sudden realization of just how silly he'd been acting. She returned the smile to him "Now that's the Bobby I know and love." And punctuated her statement with a quick kiss to his lips.

The smile still on his lips, and without saying anything, he moved himself out of her grip and began to turn and climb onto the motorcycle in front of her. He quickly changed his mind, bending back down giving her a slightly longer, slightly stronger kiss. When they parted she was still smiling, and reached up, caressing his cheek, prickly with stubble. "I'm gonna start calling you 'Chicago Bobby'."

He laughed, and swung his leg over the bike. Just as he sat down, he looked back over his shoulder to her. "Just don't tell Alex, ok? I'll never hear the end of it."
