"Rebekah," Stefan's voice was dangerously low.

Rebekah stood at the door of the refurbished mansion. Her glossy dark blonde hair shone in the setting sunlight like a million strands of gold. Her face was like plaster, not an imperfection in sight. Her jewel blue eyes were narrowed with suspicion…he wished she would look away.

"Stefan, you're here." She pointed out. She descended two steps until she was almost face to face with him.

"What did Klaus do?" Stefan could feel his body trembling, the energy of this house was unfamiliar, it was powerful…he was afraid.

"What do you mean?" Rebekah's voice was soft and musical; a hypnotic melody.

"I-I know Klaus has influenced…" Rebekah was uncomfortably close. He felt her feather light fingers stroke his hair; a shiver went up his spine which he quickly repressed.

He slapped her hand away, he didn't know what her intentions were, but he wasn't going to fall for them.

"Tell me what Klaus has done…" He breathed each word through his teeth.

"Damn it, Klaus! You said this would work!" Rebekah stomped her foot and ran back inside the house.

Stefan desperately wanted to follow her, but something in his mind was yelling at him to snap out of it…she was the enemy, she was evil…evil and gorgeous. Like a rose, so beautiful to look at, but deadly to the touch.

"Rebekah! Please…" She turned, a single tear streaked down her face.

"Rebekah…I love you." He was completely serious. He stood there as still as the large oak trees in the yard and waited for her to come back.

"Oh, Stefan!" Rebekah flew into his arms and kissed him passionately.

That's when Stefan felt the stabbing pain in his chest…

Katherine!

Stefan's eyes widened as he saw her appear in a gossamer gown before him.

"How could you Stefan? How could you love that…bitch? That worthlessness…?" Tears emerged on her face; Stefan felt that stabbing pain again.

I couldn't resist…you have to believe me!

I don't know what to believe anymore…I cannot love Stefan, for I am dead; but I put my trust in you, I hoped you would always be faithful…but I see that I have been proven wrong.

No, No Please! Katherine! I love you! I LOVE YOU!

Then the world went grey…
