Chapter 1 (PLEASE R+R!!!) (THis is Near's pov.)
The phone rang.
One of the five executives answered it, "Yes. Okay." he handed me the phone, "It's L."
I grabbed the phone, "Ah, hello L. It's nice to talk to you again."
"Yes it's nice to hear from you, too...N" L talked back.
This wasn't the real L, this was a fake.
The real L died.
Death by Kira.
It was my mission as Near to become the 'true successor to L' and stop Kira.
I started to twirl my white hair.
I never did it on purpose.
It was just a habit.
"What have you called for?" I asked.
"I thought I'd let you know that the notebook has been spotted in Hiroshima." he said.
I stayed concentrated.
That notebook again.
"Well...L...what do you have in mind for a plan?" I asked.
Silence.
"Surely you must have a plan. I figured L would always have a plan?" I progressed.
"Well...we have decided to send an undercover operative to Hiroshima and see what he can undercover by taking a copy of the notebook and watching the news constantly. When he sees people dying one after another, we will investigate."
I stayed stoic. Not thinking to move...or moving to think.
Why was he pretending to be L? What was his motif?
Oh well...first step, be inconspicous...do not let him know you know he's a fake.
