This is an essay I wrote for my language arts class. I was suppose to pick one event that has happened in my life and say the cause and effect of the event. I wrote about the first time I saw Cats. Enjoy!

One thing that has changed my life was the time I watched The Phantom of the Opera for the first time. I had listened to the music for two weeks and loved it. So I was very excited when my mom rented the DVD from Netflicks. I ran up to my room and quickly started watching it. I was ready to explode I was so excited. But as the movie progressed, I slowly lost interest. As I watched the credits scroll across the screen, I stopped the DVD and handed it to my mom, telling her to send it back. I decided to watch more of the songs on YouTube. As one of the songs ended, I accidently clicked the featured video, which happened to be Memory. As I frantically tried to go back to the other video, a soft, quiet voice made me stop, my cursor hovering over the back button. As I listened, I moved my cursor and watched as a strange, cat-like creature slowly sat down. Curious, I continued to watch as an old, grey cat creature slowly walked across the stage. I sat quietly as the ugly creature started to sing. As it sang, my mouth dropped open, unable to believe the sad, beautiful voice was coming from such an ugly creature. As she slowly stopped singing, I felt tears some to my eyes as I watched the poor thing slowly started to hobble away. As the beautiful, white cat came up and gently touched the old cat, I sighed happily. Then it was over. I sat there, trying to understand what it meant. I slowly looked up to see what the name of the video was. It was Memory from Cats the Musical. I quickly googled Cats the Musical and got millions of hits. I clicked the Wikipedia link, and read about Cats. I looked up some of the songs, just out of curiosity, and loved them. I was singing along by the second chorus. I stopped, and looked from my Phantom poster to the Cats poster. I decided Cats sounded much better. I spent the rest of that day listening to Cats, my new favorite musical. If I not expected so much from Phantom, or waited and watched it later, I might not have discovered Cats and who knows where I would be now.

I'll tell you where I would be now. I'd be drooling over a picture of the Phantom instead of a picture of Mungojerrie! The horror! This was my first look into the world of Cats and I thought it was pretty important so I decided to put it up here so you could see it. Hope you liked it! Please Review!
