Chapter One - Kimberly Wakes

Kim opened her eyes, no memory of what had happened, only knowing that she was lying on a metal bed in the middle of a dark, nearly empty room. She tried to sit up but couldn't, her head was pounding.

"Ah, Kimberly. I'm so glad you're alright." a large oversized robot man walked in.

"Who…who are you?" she asked raising a hand to her forehead.

"I am King Mondo my dear. Goodness, I can't believe they did this to you."

"Who did what?"

"The Power Rangers."

"The who?"

"An evil team of teenagers who are trying to destroy us and the human race."

"Power Rangers?"

"Yes my dear. I'm afraid you were helping one of our men when they attacked you. You must have hit your head on something." he moved closer to her. "Here, this should help." he handed her what looked like a brown cell phone. "This is your morpher," he said before she could ask. "It was damaged in battle, this is your access to your ultimate and unlimited power."

"Ultimate and unlimited power?"

"Why yes. You have powers made a pure goodness that are constant. They can never leave you and they protect you from lasting harm."

"They do?'

"Why yes of course. Now you rest up and I will see to it that once you are better you can destroy the power rangers yourself for what they have done to you."

"Thank you."

"Anything for my adoptive daughter."

"Huh?"

"Why yes. Your parents were killed by the power rangers four years ago, they were helping me try to stop them from taking over the world. Before they died they asked that I take care of you. I have known you since you were a child."

"You have?"

"Why yes. No need for alarm, you can trust me. All will become clear in time." he said as he turned to walk out. Kimberly looked down at the morpher in her hand then back up to the door where Mondo had just disappeared through.

"Evil Power Rangers? Power Rangers?" she said to herself in a small whisper that was barely audible. She looked back down at the morpher and opened it. She thought for a moment about why it looked so familiar and as if by instinct she pressed three numbers and the green button near the top. There was a shimer of light and a feeling of exhilaration then she looked down and she was wearing a light blue outfit that kind of looked like it had a fish tail. She stood up and walked over to the small mirror. Now that she saw herself full it looked like she was wearing a light blue warrior mermaid outfit.

She pressed the red button and the outfit disappeared. She looked from the morpher in her hand to her reflection and back, a look of horror and confusion on her face.

"Awesome isn't it?" she turned to see a small version of Mondo standing in the doorway. She looked at him, confused. "I'm Prince Sprocket. I'm glad your alright. Those perky Power Rangers really know how to ruin everything." he let out a mechanical giggle.

"You're all robots?"

"Machine Empire. We protect the humans while the Power Rangers try to destroy them. We're the good guys. Just like you." he walked over to her. He was only up to her knee at the very least and she had to smile, he was a rather cute little thing.

"I'm a good guy?"

"Yep, and you better rest up. Who knows when the Power Rangers will attack again." he turned and exited, leaving her alone to let everything sink in. Something about all of this felt wrong to her, but she didn't know why. Something made her feel like she shouldn't be there.
