2783. Humanity has achieved global peace and prosperity. With the advancements of technology, anything is within the common man's reach. Daily life has become a monotonous existence. To prevent mankind's violent and chaotic nature from surfacing once more, a simulation was created. This simulation was...
Galactic Destruction.
Using knowledge of pre-utopian entertainment, the company HavTech Industries began the massive undertaking of Galactic Destruction. Wanting to attain a wide audience, they decided to utilize some of the most popular space-based series of the pre-utopian era. To create a fully immersive environment, they invented a new method of interaction: Synapse Chambers. Because the participants are comatose during the experience, these chambers stimulate the parts of the brain that would be used by the actions that characters take in the simulation, as well as taking care of any biological needs of the inhabitants by using the latest medical technology. These technologies allowed for the most immersive experience ever created by humanity.
In order to achieve Synaptic Immersion, every person undergoes a mental evaluation. This process allows a person to more accurately determine their role in Galactic Destruction. Upon completion of the Synaptic Immersion, the person would be presented with a wide spectrum of roles and opportunities. Some roles even alter your appearance. After selection of your role, your past is erased, and you are given a new memory to correspond with your chosen role. Your time in the simulation then begins, and you may not leave until the completion of one "cycle", or year.
The story of the first cycle follows the adventures of a UNSC Prowler, codename Vail, and its dysfunctional crew. Operating as an ONI special operations and reconnaissance ship, they perform high-risk missions in all environments. This crew proves vital to the war effort, and though disorganized, becomes some of the biggest heroes of the first cycle.
