She found them. That stupid water tribe peasant found him and his uncle. Zuko - well, it was Lee now - was cleaning off a table when he heard familiar voices coming from the entry way. He didn't recognize the two at first, but he found them at one of the tables by the far wall.
That water tribe peasant and her blind friend seemed to be playing dress-up. Their faces were painted and they were wearing Earth Kingdom clothing that must have been in fashion. It was unnecessary, really. The young refugee could still recognize the two - well the waterbender at least. He would be able to recognize her from anywhere, what with her darker skin and those eyes that seemed to look into his soul. She's changed since he last noticed. The girl had grown into her body a little more. She looked a little taller and more independent as well. He might even say that she was pretty - which he would never in a million years say out loud. He wondered if she would be prettier without the painted face and fashionable clothing.
"It's not gentleman-like to to stare at two pretty female companions, nephew." His uncle appeared behind him. Zuko was startled and dropped his tray, getting tea all over himself and tea cups on the floor. The water tribe peasant turned to his diretion. She was smiling until she saw him. She looked at him fiercely, daring him to look away. Was it possible for her to look even prettier when she looked at him like that? No. Oh Agni no. The tea fumes must be getting to him. Yes, that must be why he's finding this peasant - his enemy - attractive.
Zuko picked up the tea cups and placed them back on the tray. He turned towards the kitchen and acted like everything was normal - as if he dropped trays of tea all the time.
The conversation started up again, but all Zuko could hear were the voices of the two young ladies that were supposed to be his enemies.
AN: 369 words... one of the shortest things I've ever written. How do you people write drabbles? Anyways, review and all that jazz :)
