A/N: So this is sort of the ferryboat accident with a twist. It's a one-shot and all you need to know is Hannah came in alot earlier. I own nothing except the mistakes.
It hit her like a ton of bricks, causing Meredith to shiver involuntarily. As she struggled to make it back to the top of the crystal prison a flash of pink caught her eye. Coming to the top she gulped in air and went back down, the flash of pink was gone.
Knowing deep down that something was wrong, other than the obvious, she continued her search. But the cold started to get to her, the swim back to the top were getting harder and the longer it took the more she felt like her lungs were going to explode. Finally she decided to give up, trying to convince herself it was nothing a lost teddy bear or something. As she began to swim up to the top another flash of pink invaded her vision.
Izzie Stevens sat in a hard, plastic chair., suddenly overwhelmed the injuries that flooded the ER. A little voice told her she should be doing something, helping anything. Standing up slowly she began to make her way over to the nurse's station, intending to grab a chart.
"Have you seen my daughter, she has...has...Oh my gosh I can't even remember her hair color. I can't...I can't breath where the heck is my husband?" each word continued to get louder and the woman's voice was coming out in short gasps.
"Excuse me, Miss I need you to calm down. That's it deep breaths. In. Out. In. Out." leading the women over to a chair she sat beside her.
"Ok, so can you tell me what's the matter?" Izzie knew what was going down but to even think that a child could be missing was like a fist to her gut.
"My daughter, she has leukemia and we brought her here, she wanted to go on a ferry ride... she said she wanted to before she...before she died." the last part caused her breath to hitch and Izzie immediately pushing the feeling away, needing this woman to concetrate before she hyperventilated.
"Ok, can you tell me her name, physical features, what she was wearing?"
"Her name's Hannah, she has um... she was wearing a pink shirt, maybe it was blue I don't remember, have you found her yet?"
The hopeful look on her face almost made Izzie break down right there, but she needed to focus, she couldn't let this woman panic.
Meredith gasp causing water to enter her mouth, and she was forced to go back up for air, as she did she had to make a choice. She could either go back down and grab whoever was down there, but Meredith was getting to the point of exhaustion and both of them could die in the process, or she could swim and find help, but by then the girl could have disappeared, killing any hope that her body would be recovered.
Making a split second decision, she plunged back into the water, as she neared the little girl's body she noticed a Seattle Grace wristband wrapped around her wrist. Still getting closer she was able to make out only a first name.
Hannah.
A/N: Weird place to end I know but I needed to get this out to continue my other stories, if you really want me to continue this then review. I'm looking for a certain number but still review anyway.
