Gravity
n. Heaviness or weight; seriousness or solemnity
"Practice is over." He grunted. Zuko looked over his shoulder at Aang. The airbender flew out of sight as son as the sentence was finished. The firebender sat down by the fountain, turning himself towards the clear water. He opened up his shirt and examined himself. Damn, Aang had really gotten him this time. There was a large burn mark on the center of his chest. Not as bad as some of the other burns had been, but this one was going to sting for a while. Hopefully it wouldn't scar over though.
He was pulling his shirt back together when mocha skin came into his sight. Zuko looked up to see Katara standing in front of him, looking as beautiful as ever, even if her face was contorted in worry.
"Zuko! What happened?" The waterbender asked. Her worry was seeping through her voice, like running through his hands.
"I'm fine, Katara. It's just a burn." He knew that it was a lie. His shirt rubbed the wrong way and agitated his burned skin, making Zuko wince at the shot of pain.
"No, it's not fine, Zuko. Let me take a look at it." Katara started to remove his shirt. "It won't scar if I heal it now." She announced as she inspected the burn.
Katara took some of the water from the fountain and let it cover her hands, glowing light blue over her tanned skin. She placed her hands over Zuko's chest, concentration leaving furrows between her eye brows. The coolness of the water startled him at first, but he adjusted, letting the liquid calm him as it did it's work. Zuko closed his eyes and reveled in the in the positive feeling of his skin going back to normal.
"Zuko." She mumbled softly, getting his attention. He didn't even notice that Katara was done. He opened his eyes and really took the time to look at her.
Katara truly was beautiful. Her eyes were bluer that the sky and deeper that the ocean. And her lips, oh Agni her lips. They were perfect. Zuko wondered if they were as soft as the looked.
The waterbender's cheeks looked a little pink at the moment. "Zuko." She repeated. This time she sounded almost breathless. Was he really able to do that to her?
"Yes?" He asked her, looking into her eyes. He felt himself leaning in, almost like gravity.
She closed her eyes. He did the same. The next thing he knew, her lips were on his. The kiss was gentle and tentative. She ended the kiss and touched his forehead with hers. Where did that came from? He asked himself.
As i fthey had a mind of their own, his hands grabbed her face and his lips desperately recaptured hers. She didn't react instantly, but when she did, she did it fiercely. He hands tangled in his dark hair and she pulled him closer, as if he would voluntarily leave her. Zuko's hands moved from her face to her waist, pulling the waterbender into his lap. As they kissed, Zuko felt like Katara kept him grounded with her hands running through his hair, scraping his scalp.
Katara pulled away again, breathing heavily. His breathing was labored as well.
"Thanks foir the healing session." He said, still trying to catch his breath.
"Anytime." She replied, smirking at him. He couldn't help but smile back at her.
"See? I so told you something was up!" Zuko turned around to find Toph and Suki slow clapping it out for them.
"Gotten and closer, and gravity would have pulled you two into the fountain." Suki remarked, smirking the whole time. the two girls laughed and left Zuko and Katara alone. He wouldn't have minded falling into the eater, as long as Katara was with him.
