When Jack woke up, he was in his room at the pole. Bunnymund and the others were staring at the ground.
"Hey, guys,"Jack said groggily. All of their heads snapped up at the same time.
"We were worried about you, mate,"Bunny told Jack. Jack smiled at the huge bunny.
"What happened anyway?"Jack inquired of Bunnymund. The Pooka's eyes filled with anger.
"Pitch let us out of the cage. You said that you where the one that was going to die and I was the one to live. Just Pitch was about to kill you, you raised your staff and started chanting. Somehow that chant got rid of him, and then you blacked out. I brought you here to the pole to have North's yetis look at you,"Bunnymund explained to him.
"I was willing to die for all of you?"Jack questioned because his memory was a little foggy.
"Yes, you were, mate. That was after you were telling me that you meant nothing to the rest of us,"Bunny said. Jack noticed Sandy making shapes out if his dream sand.
"I know and I'm sorry. I'll be more careful next time,"Jack promised the sandman.
"What did he say?"Tooth asked Jack.
"He told me that it was stupid and reckless to go off along. He made me promise to be more careful next time,"Jack told Tooth.
"He's right, Jack. You've got to be more careful,"North said in a father like tone of voice.
"Do you guys think I could have a moment alone with Bunny for a moment?"Jakc asked the other four guardians. They all nodded and left the room.
"What's on your mind, Frost?"Bunny asked the winter spirit.
"Did you really mean what you said?"Jack inquired.
"About what?"Bunny returned.
"The fact that I've made everyone's life better. Even yours,"Jack said with a hopeful look in his eyes.
"I meant it, mate, and I have a feeling that if you asked the other guardians, they would say the same exact thing,"Bunny said before getting up and leaving the room to go finish decorating his egglettes for Easter. He sent the other Guardians back in.
"North, would you mind helping me up?"Jack asked the big Russian guy.
"sure,"North answered in his thick Russian accent while lifting Jack off if the bed.
"I'm going to go help Bunny with the egglettes,"Jack announced.
"I don't think that such a good idea, Jack, you've just recovered,"Tooth said.
"I need to do this. As much as I hate to admit it, I owe Bunny,"Jack told Tooth. He looked at the others to see what they would have to say.
"Jack's right. He needs to do this, so let him. I warn you though, jack, be careful,"Norht told the winter spirit.
"I will. I promise,"jack said before disappearing from the pole and reappearing in Bunny's. warren.
He walked for awhile before he reached the main part of the warren and spotted Bunnymund. The Pooka stood up immediately at the smell of another presence and drew his boomerangs. He turned around prepared to throw when he realized it was just Jack.
"What are you doing down here, mate?"the Bunny asked because the winter spirit never came down to the warren at all.
"I owe you. I came to help you decorate the eggs in time for Easter,"Jack said picking one up. He turned it upside down and conjured a paint brush. He sat down and began to paint.
"Not that I don't mind the help, but why do you owe me?"the bunny questioned.
"You helped me believe in myself and what I meant to you guys, and then you brought me to the pole to save me. I owe you,"Jack said finishing the egg setting it down and picking up another one. The Pooka sat down next to him and started painting as well.
The two of them remained like this for awhile. They talked the entire time, and they became better friends to each other than they already were.
