Prologue: Missing
"Suzaku! Get your butt down here!"
Hurried footsteps could be heard as the aforementioned ran down the stairs and into the kitchen of the somewhat large house. Kallen, the one who had shouted earlier, shook her head as she looked her brother up and down.
Disheveled curly brown hair framed a tanned, still slightly chubby face. The too big shirt hung off the boy's shoulder, reaching down far enough to cover the pale blue, chick-print boxers. A wide, goofy smile covered his face, his jade eyes sparkling as he rocked back and forth on his bare heels.
The redhead shook her head again, smiling softly before she pointed to the omelet on the counter. "I made you breakfast so eat it before it gets cold. Also, we're going to see Doctor Asplund for your monthly check up after I get back from work." The brunette simply plopped onto the stool and practically inhaled the omelet.
Kallen simply chuckled. The boy may look seventeen, but he was still a child, mentally and at heart.

"Kallen!" The redhead turned to look as she heard her name being called out. It turned out to be Monica, her student-teacher. The blond bounced to a stop, a smile gracing her pink-glossed lips.
"How is Suzaku-kun today?"
"Good. Better." Was all the redhead said, turning back around to continue her walk to the teacher's lounge. She could hear the woman huff behind her.
"You're not very nice, you know that? You could at least describe how your brother is doing better." The blond mumbled, catching up and walking along side the slightly taller woman. Kallen just shook her head, sighing in defeat.
"He remembers bits and pieces of yesterday, but that's about it. The journal is really helping." The bubbly blond just nodded, the smile blooming into a full out grin.
"That's great! I can't wait till he remembers everything; without the book of course."
Kallen sighed.
"That would be nice."

"Mister Gulletford!" A muffled curse was uttered as the metric ruler met with the space beside the boy, a loud snap resonating from the contact of polished wood on polished wood. The boy, known as Gulletford, looked up blearily at his redheaded teacher, a mumbled apology escaping his lips.
"You better not fall asleep again." Miss Kouzuki stated, turning back around to finish writing the problem on the board. The blackette had a bad tendency to fall asleep in her class. She didn't know how since her third period class could get a little chaotic, but he did it anyway.
Before she could snap at some more hardly innocent students, the bell rang, signaling the end of class. Ah, lunch. She was glad that she had first lunch instead of second or third.
As the students finished filing out of the classroom, she felt her phone start vibrating in her back pants pocket. Wondering who it could be, she pulled it out, answering.
"Hello?"
"Miss Kouzuki!" It was the housekeeper and babysitter, Inoue, but why was she calling? "I can't seem to find Suzaku! He's missing!"
Kallen froze, rooted in her spot, unmoving as the blue-haired woman blabbed on and on, sobbing into the phone on how worried and sorry she was for losing the brown haired boy. Snapping out of reality, Kallen grabbed her jacket and bolted out the door, telling Inoue that everything was fine before hanging up.
She ran past Monica, yelling a "Take over for me!" over her should. The redhead yanked her car door open and slammed it shut once she was inside, starting it before pulling out of the parking lot carefully but quickly.
This is why she had a student-teacher.
This is why she had a babysitter.
And this is why, if Suzaku's father didn't want to take care of him, she would.
She'd never let anything bad happen to him.
Not again.
Meh. /plops onto the ground dead.
