We'd both been hurt; Ash lied to me, Craig broke her heart and Jesse cheated. Things are coming together with me and Trina, but sometimes I wonder how things might've played out if she felt the same.
"Jimmy this is amazing! And you did it overnight?" Ellie exclaimed, holding up the sketch pad.
"Yep, once I get goin' there's no stopping me." I say. "You really like it?"
"Yeah, it's… wow." She says.
"This image of you just kept lingering in my head; I had to get it out on paper."
"Aw, how sweet." Ellie leans over to kiss me on the cheek as she puts down the sketch pad. "But we do have the banquet tonight, so if you're trying to romance me, yah might wanna wait until then."
"I have to try now?" we look at each other for a moment before she bends over again to kiss me. This time on my lips. "It's cool that you're presenting the award to Caitlin,"
"Yeah, I was a little shocked to get the e-mail. They claimed I was the most enthusiastic and creative teen she'd ever worked with,"
"Can't disagree, although they should've added in cute as well." I added. She sniggers.
"So, they thought I'd be perfect to present her with the award."
"I'm really happy for you, Elle."
"But I'm not getting the award."
"No, but you are getting honorable mention, that'll really get your writing out there."
"I think I'll settle with The Core, I don't really wanna make any huge plans as far as writing goes."
"Why? I thought it was your dream to become a world renowned writer."
"It was, but I've been thinking about something else too."
"What, selling demo CDs to underground record companies?" I joked.
"Not CDs and not record companies. Your artwork is amazing and I'm a fair artist as well when it comes to sketching and designing a good website. So I was wondering if we could open up an art studio. Just a small place, nothing major. But only if it's okay with you, you know I'm not one for dreaming big either. It was just a little idea."
Wow, this was out of the blue, I didn't know she had these plans for the future.
"A lot to process, but it sounds interesting. Where do I sign up?"
"Really? I mean, only if you want to. It kinda was a sudden idea."
"I'm sure Nash; I've been meaning to plan something with you. Between high school and you're stellar college lifestyle, I haven't had any time to spend with my baby." I take her hand and she sits on my lap.
"Okay, but just remember it was an idea, you can back out whenever. I don't wanna put any unwanted pressure on you."
"Ellie wherever I go, you're coming with me." I smile. We kiss and I know everything's gonna be alright.
Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like if she felt the same…
