A Day Before

Hinata walked in the cold snow away from the Christmas store. It was 11:30pm on December 26, a day after all the Christmas rowdiness. Hinata was secretly happy it was over because now it was time to just sit back and wait for New Years, oh and lets not forget her birthday which was approximately thirty-five minutes from now.

Hinata couldn't really remember why she left the Hyuga mansion where Christmas cheers could still be heard.

Oh yea, she needed fresh air.

She kept walking wishing her $200 jacket that Neji had gotten her would warm her up some more. Mind you any normal human would notice how hot it was in this jacket. Konoha rarely had snow and when it did snow it wasn't very cold.

'Being born two days after Christmas isn't as fun as you would think it is.'

Hinata was very…. Different. Her main worry about her birthday was that after all the Christmas celebration people would still go out of their way to get her a gift. She personally didn't think it was necessary for people to do such a thing since she had already gotten so much from everyone. She was 'very weird' in Naruto's point of view.

Hinata kept walking as the one-inch snow crunched under her feet. She soon found herself amongst others as they wished her a merry Christmas.

She stopped to buy some coffee.

As soon as she found a bench to sit on she sat. She pulled her long indigo colored hair back so it wouldn't get in her way.

"Who drinks coffee at this time of the night"

Hinata turned her direction to the familiar voice.

"Ah, Sasuke." She smiled.

He brushed the dark hair out of his face and sat next to her on the city bench. He moved closer to her and placed his arm around her.

"Sasuke" She called.

"Its an on and off relationship Hinata."

"It needs to be either one or the other."

"I like you"

"But you don't love me"

They sat at the bench as Hinata pushed his arm away.

She threw the cup carefully into the trash bin. She began to get up.

"Wait, I got you something for your birthday."

"Your twenty minutes early, you know how much I hate that."

Hinata also hated it when people gave her birthday gifts earlier than they should. These are just one of those things that were….unexplainable.

"Your weird, but here" He gave her the rapped gift.

She held the well wrapped gift. It was small, really small but a gift none the less.

"Thanks."

"Open it"

"No"

"Please" He pleaded. Hinata was the only person who could get him to plead and she didn't even know it.

She slowly unwrapped it.

She opened the expensive looking little box. She knew it was jewelry.

"Oh my" She said looking back at Sasuke.

"Hinata," He held her hand.

"Yes Sasuke"

"I love you more than ever." He said.

"You do?" Already tears were at the edge of her eyes.

"I wasn't sure at first that was why I took those breaks, but now I'm sure" He smiled a little.

"I…"

"Marry me."

"Yes"

12:05am

"Happy birthday" He said as she jumped on him and hugged him.

"I love you" She said looking him in the eye.

"I love you too" He said.

The small gap between them was soon closed as he felt her lips on her. He felt her smile on her lips and soon her tear drops fell.

Hinata walked into the Hyuga residence with a smile plastered on her face. She was hand in hand with Sasuke as her whole family stared at her. Sasuke wasn't a stranger in the house.

Her father smiled a little.

"About time Uchiha" Neji smirked as he congratulated them.

Kaoru: Happy birthday Hinata-chan. I had to do it. Couldn't help it. Please review.
