CHANGE OF EVENTS – THE MUSTAFAR STORY
Anakin hastily fought against Obi-Wan on the floating platform. It was floating towards the lava-fall. Obi-Wan made a quick jump as Anakin floated on the platform. Obi-Wan landed on the black sand platform nearby. He was safe for now.
"It's over, Anakin! I have the high ground." Obi-Wan said. Anakin was filled for hatred. His former master had turned Padme against him. He had not stayed loyal to Palpatine and had come to kill him. Anakin vowed to make him pay.
"You underestimate my power!" Anakin yelled.
"Don't try it!" Obi-Wan warned. Anakin did not heed the warning. It wasn't even a warning. He was trying to kill Anakin by tricking him into plunging over the edge. But he wasn't going to do it! Anakin drew his lightsaber and made an amazing jump, igniting the blade as he was in the air. He blocked Obi-Wan's blast and a ferocious battle erupted.
"You'll never win, Master! Give up!" Anakin jeered. The fighting got quicker as he started making his blasts quick, focusing on his hatred. It fed his soul, and gave him power. All that Obi-Wan had done to make him miserable was going to end today. Anakin used the Force to push Obi-Wan to the ground, near the lava. He held the lightsaber close and with one final strike, killed him. Anakin now could have peace, knowing that his old mentor was no more and soon diplomacy would resume.
Anakin approached the royal skiff. No, he wouldn't enter. She had turned against him and brought the former Jedi to kill him. He would not see her again. She could die there for all he cared. The emporer's ship landed and Anakin greeted the Chancellor onboard, telling him the good news.
As time would tell, Chancellor Palpatine's statement was correct. The Galactic Empire would reign for ten thousand years and no one was powerful enough to stop it. Since Padme had died on the ship, there was no offspring to challenge the emporer. Yoda had tried before dieing to kill the Emporer, but failed because he was too weak. The Sith would rule the galaxy until the end of time, and no one lived happily ever after.
