Hello to all the random people who have found this page. You are the lucky few to witness a mighty thing. Ready? Have you prepared yourself for the great and almighty:

Fan Fiction Challenge! *confetti*

Okay, so it's not THAT all-powerful or anything. The Challenge is a fun, made-up tool for stupid, creative outlets and writing. (And if you think I'm some dumb-crap who thinks this'll actually go somewhere, you are sadly mistaken.) But The Challenge is a short, easy way to think outside the box or write something funny about fandom you enjoy. Think about it: we've all seen some pretty goofy fan fictions out there. This game is to make your own or poke fun at whatever it is you are challenged to write about.

The rules are simple:

Choose a task or challenge. These are typically, "Think of a serious fan-thing and make it funny" or "Combine two fan-things in a clever yet silly x-over."

Pick whatever you want to write about, be it a game, novel/book series, anime, manga, comic book character, movie franchise, tv show or any other fictional tidbit. You have full choosing rights over whatever it is, but it has to follow the challenge. (Ex. If the challenge is to pick a serious thing and make is silly, don't pick Spongebob.)

Write a summary about the topic as if you were writing it as the plot summary of a book. Like, if you thing was a book and this was written on the back. It can be lengthy or short, but you want some detail in the story. Two sentences isn't that exciting.

Also, you may write a short one-shot of your summary if you desire. This is optional, but if you have the feeling to let the words flow, we won't stop you.

Some challenges may specifically say to write a one-shot or a poem instead of a brief summary. For those, a summary IS NOT needed, but if you must, go ahead.

I don't expect everyone to join in on the Challenge, but if you enjoy making up stupid, funny things and want to be Challenged by the Challenge, make your own challenges or use some of mine. The main idea is to write fun drabbles.

Challenge No. 1

Challenge: Turn a serious fan-thing into a heartwarming modern coming-of-age story.

Choice Subject: Death Note

Light has always been number one, but being at the top of everything can be pretty lonely. But when a killer notebook falls into his hands one magical day, Light thinks he has life figured out. But when the power if the Death Note turns Light into something he never wanted to become, he must lean on the people he has met along the way as well as befriend the mysterious detective, L. A heartwarming tale about friendship and growing up in the confusion of society, Death Note is the feel-good story of the ages.

…it's as simple as that. It doesn't take long, and the silly parodies are somewhat fun to make. I'll keep challenging myself, but if anyone wants to try wowing the world with funny, quick stupidity that actually takes some brainwork. This challenge was easy. Let's see what comes next.
