"Thanks for coming with me, Nathan." Blaine said, looking at the boy to his left, a nervous smile on his face.
The two boys sat close together on a bench next to the front doors of their school as they waited for Nathan's father to pick them up from the Sadie Hawkins dance.
Nathan smiled back at Blaine and nodded his head. "I'm glad you asked me. I…I had a lot of fun,"
They sat in silence for a few moments until Nathan hesitantly reached over and took Blaine's hand in his own. Surprised, Blaine looked up at Nathan and then back down at his feet, trying to hide the fact that he was blushing.
"Well, what do we have here?" asked a voice coming from down the hall. Blaine and Nathan shot apart as they saw three intimidatingly tall seniors walking towards them.
"Looks like someone didn't get the no homo memo," one of them said as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Blaine's eyes widened and he could feel his heart thud against his chest. He glanced over at Nathan, who had his eyes fixed on the three boys.
"Look Kevin," Nathan said calmly, "We don't want any trouble. Can you guys just…leave us alone?"
The one Nathan had called Kevin stepped closer to him. "No actually, we can't leave you alone," he said with a sneer. "Because I'm sick of you flaunting your gay around like it's something to be proud of. And I'm sick of you. Disgusting. Fags." as he said the last word he shoved Nathan. The smaller boy did not hesitate to return the favor.
"Nathan, no!" Blaine shouted. "Stop!"
Blaine ran up and tried to grab Nathan's wrist and drag him away, but before he could he was grabbed from behind. He let out a gasp of pain as his arm was twisted behind his back and he was pinned to the wall of lockers by the other two seniors.
"Alex," Kevin shouted over his shoulder as he tried to hold Nathan down, "Get over here. That kid's tiny, Aaron can handle him."
Blaine struggled to get free as he felt one pair of hands release him but the older boy just dug his nails deeper into Blaine's arm as he tightened his hold.
Oh my god, Blaine thought as fear bubbled like acid in his stomach. He had no idea what was going on, all he could see was the wall his face was being smashed against. What are they going to do to us? Are they going to kill us?
Blaine heard Nathan let out a cry of pain and he couldn't stand it anymore. He began to struggle even more.
"Help," he yelled. "Help! He-"
Before he could say anything else he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head and everything went black.
