"Why can't we work?" Tonks asked fiercely.
"I already told you! I'm too-'' Lupin retorted.
"Don't give me that 'too old, too poor, too dangerous shit again! I'm so damn sick of it! What if I like older men! Huh? Did you ever think about that?"
"I-''
"I'm a bloody Auror! I get plenty of money to support us both, even the entire Weasley family! And, damn it Remus, wolfsbane exists! You would never hurt me! You never hurt James or Sirius-''
"But I could have! And now, I realize how stupid I was acting! I don't want to hurt you too!" Lupin was frustrated with her. Why doesn't she just leave! Or at least realize why we could never be together!
"You think your helping me don't you? You think your protecting me? Well, your really hurting me! I'm dying inside! Can't you see that!"
He was silent for what seemed like forever too her.
"Tell me you don't love me. Look me in the eye and say it."
Lupin tried to even look her in the face.
"Ok, fine, fine! I'm done with this bull shit! I'm leaving!"she shrieked fiercely. And with that said, she took her coat and went out into the cold night. Lupin just stood there, the door ajar, in awe at what had just happened. He could go after her. He could fix his problems. But what he did was close the door between their lives.
