I wrote this poem for my Creative Writing class last year, not long after I had first seen "The Phantom of the Opera". It is written in the style of a Ghazal.

Welcome to my secret lair,
hidden beneath the stair, my angel.
It is you that I have ensnared
with my music so rare, my angel.
You are too radiant to compare
to that world up there, my angel.
To them, I am only a nightmare,
with an evil and devilish glare, my angel.
You are an answer to my prayer
to save me from my despair, my angel.
Promise me, you'll leave me ne'er.
Your love for me, declare, my angel.
